Recently, Indian cricketer Jasprit Bumrah’s wife, sports anchor Sanjana Ganesan, was all over my social media feed. Fans were disappointed with the player’s performance in the World Test Championship and somehow, found it reasonable to blame her for it. The very same netizens trolled Anushka Sharma for her husband and Indian cricket team captain, Virat Kohli’s performances in the past.

Is it wrong? Absolutely. Does it make sense? Of course not. Do these people learn from their mistakes? Apparently not, because now netizens have found a new reason to blame another woman for a man’s decision. This time, it’s Fatima Sana Shaikh. Soon after Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao announced their separation, several social media users started holding the actress responsible for it.

For the unversed, the couple released an official statement recently that said that they’d be parting ways after 15 years of marriage. But, they said they’d continue to be family for each other and raise their son, Azad Khan, together. It read, “In these 15 beautiful years together we have shared a lifetime of experiences, joy and laughter, and our relationship has only grown in trust, respect and love. Now we would like to begin a new chapter in our lives – no longer as husband and wife, but as co-parents and family for each other.” They added that they would continue to collaborate on projects professionally and requested their fans to look at their separation as a new beginning.

However, their split was soon given a religious angle where netizens trolled Aamir for ruining the lives of Hindu women. How absurd is that? Things became worse when they started accusing Fatima of allegedly breaking the couple’s marriage. Both the actors had previously worked together in Dangal and Thugs Of Hindostan.
