If I have to name one show I can watch at any time, irrespective of how many times I’ve seen it already, it has to be Friends. It’s safe to say that the show really paved the way for a whole new generation. Be it Chandler’s wit, Rachel’s fashion, Phoebe’s weirdness, Monica’s OCD, Joey’s love for food, and Ross’s nerdiness, there was something in every character’s traits that we could all relate to.
But as a beauty junkie, I surpassed everything and remained obsessed with Rachel’s hair, Monica’s red lip, and Phoebe’s perfect, everyday neutral lip gloss shade. And you best believe I scoured the internet for anything I could get on my favourite character’s makeup looks.
Just before the Friends reunion, the lead makeup artist of the show, Robin Siegel spilled the beans on the exact lipstick shades he used on Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, and Lisa Kudrow in the show!

For that mix between brown and taupe, which was signature to Rachel Green, Siegel used the MAC lip pencil in the shade Spice and paired it with the MAC Satin Lip Colour lippie in the shade Touch (which has been discontinued)
Later on, Jennifer Aniston also went on to reveal that she used the shade Paramount from MAC on the show. “It was a browny brick. I remember that was my go-to colour when I was doing Friends,” she revealed to Glamour Magazine.
Courtney’s lip shade on the other hand had hints of red, that really brought out her complexion. Siegel revealed that he used Mac’s Spice It Up for Monica’s looks on the show.
Lisa Kudrow often sported a nude, barely-there lip shade with a hint of gloss. While the shade he used for Phoebe’s look is now discontinued, the MUA revealed that Charlotte Tilbury’s Pillow Talk is very similar to the OG shade he used.
You know a lipstick is good when it’s gained cult status and been approved by your favourite stars. While I have the Pillow Talk, I’m all set to get my hands on Paramount and Spice It Up. And just in time for Halloween too, in case I want to dress up like my favourite characters!
