Bigg Boss 16 is all set to premiere on October 1 and we cannot keep calm. Judging from the promos, this season is going to be one exhilarating ride. BB 16 will have many popular faces and it seems like the makers finally have a list of confirmed contestants. In a press conference on Tuesday, Salman introduced the first contestant, Abdu Rozik. Now as per reports, another confirmed contestant is Sumbul Touqeer Khan from Imlie.
Who is Sumbul Touqeer Khan?
Sumbul is a television actress who is known for her role in the popular Hindi soap, Imlie. Apart from that, she also had played cameo in Ayushmann Khuranna’s film Article 15. She has done other famous TV serials like Ishaaron Ishaaron Mein and Chandragupta Maurya.
Sumbul Touqeer Khan’s Biography
Sumbul Touqeer, born on November 15, 2003, has made a household name for herself. In 2016 Sumbul along with her family moved from Delhi to Mumbai to build a career in the entertainment industry. From being a child actress in daily soaps to making a Bollywood debut, Sumbul has come a long way. According to Sumbul Touqeer’s Instagram, she’s a carefree girl who loves to take life as it comes.
Family Life
Born in a Muslim family in Katni, Madhya Pradesh, Sumbul is just 18-years-old. Her father, Hasan Khan, is a well-known choreographer in the television genre. Being a child of divorced parents, Sumbul was raised by her father along with her sister Saniya Touqeer.
Education & Hobbies
Sumbul Touqeer attended the N.T.C.C High School in Malad and then graduated from Nirmala Memorial College. Dancing and acting were interchangeably Sumbul’s favourite hobbies. As a kid, she attended Monika Varna’s Acting Academy. In school, Sumbul and her sister would passionately take part in plays premised around Krishna and Ramleela.
Sumbul Touqeer Movies And TV Shows
While she was a school-going girl, Sumbul made her television debut as Shubhada in Chandragupta Maurya in 2011. Later, she starred as Mehtab (Akabr’s niece) in Jodha Akbar (2013). Before Bigg Boss 16, Sumbul also participated in DID Lil Masters. The teen actor was later recognised for her supporting roles in dramas like Waaris (2016) and Ishaaron Ishaaron Mein (2019). She had her first career milestone when she played the female protagonist in Star Plus’ critically acclaimed show Imlie. The serial is an adapted version of the Bengali series, called Ishti Kutum, a story of love, betrayal, and encircling family dynamics.
Playing the role of Amali, Sumbul Touqeer made her B-town debut in Article 15. In 2018 she made an appearance in a short film, called Ghar Ki Jyoti. She also featured as Dhvani Bhanushali’s friend in her famous music video Vaaste.
