What we say about Ekta Kapoor depends entirely on how much we like the television shows that she has brought to Indian TVs. Like her work or not, you can’t ignore the fact that she is a flag bearer in so many ways. The director, producer and creative head of Balaji Telefilms has brought gems like Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki, Kasautii Zindagi Kay and now even Kasautii Zindagi Kay 2.
In a recent interview, Ekta Kapoor revealed that she had actually thought of making Naagin into a film and she even went to Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra for it, but since they weren’t convinced, she decided to bring it to television.
Ekta said, “After Dirty Picture, I decided to make Naagin as a film. I decided to take that concept to two people. I went to Katrina Kaif and she told me ‘after Dirty Picture, you want to make something path-breaking’ and I suggested her Naagin and she just looked at me and thought I had smoked something (laughs). She told me if I was joking to make something like this in today’s time.”
She later even went to Priyanka Chopra with the same offer.
Adding to her statement, Ekta Kapoor said, “I went to PeeCee; it was at the time when she was going abroad. Both of them were not sure if that will work. Then I decided to make it a TV show.”
Now Ekta Kapoor has just launched Naagin 4 which features Nia Sharma and Jasmin Bhasin as the main icchadari naagins. The show is also one of the most-watched and loved show on Indian television right now. It tops the TRP charts time and time again, making people huge fans of it.
