It was quite a bummer when producer Ekta Kapoor announced that she was putting an end to the Naagin franchise. Even more torturous was the supernatural series, Kuch Toh Hai: Naagin Ek Naye Rang Mein, the confusing spin-off of the OG franchise. It could not impress the audience at all and the makers were quick to end the serial without any cliffhanger.
Just when we thought that we would no longer get to watch the beautiful (and dangerous) shape-shifters on our TV screen, producer Ekta Kapoor dropped one of the biggest announcements of 2021. A new season of Naagin will be releasing very soon and we’re so freaking excited!
The last Bigg Boss 15 Weekend Ka Vaar episode became more intense when former Naagins, Surbhi Chandna and Anita Hassanandani accompanied Ekta in the BB house. Before meeting the gharwalas, the producer and host Salman Khan revealed that Naagin 6 would release on January 30. But wait, that’s not it. She also spilled some beans about the star cast of the upcoming season and nope, we totes didn’t see that coming.
Ekta said that while she still has to finalise a few actors, the leading lady has been decided. She did not reveal the name but gave a major hint that her name started with ‘M’. We have already joined the dots for you and think that she’s talking about the OG naagin of the show, Mouni Roy.
Given the fact that the actress was last seen on Naagin 2 that ended with a cliffhanger, it makes sense for her to finally come back and give us some answers we all have been waiting for.
Interestingly, Mouni recently shared a series of pics on her Instagram handle with Ekta and Ranveer Singh from the set of the reality game show, The Big Picture. We hope that the producer will finally end the suspense and reveal the name of the leading lady of the sixth season in the upcoming episode. TBH, we cannot wait to find out who’s going to be our new (or old) Naagin!
