Zulfein Teri, Itni Ghani: These DIY Hair Spas Will Ensure That You Never Have A Bad Hair Day Again!

Zulfein Teri, Itni Ghani: These DIY Hair Spas Will Ensure That You Never Have A Bad Hair Day Again!

Most of you will agree that the condition of our hair is directly proportional to our mood. A good hair day can do wonders to our confidence and finding out that there is still oil left in our hair after shampooing can ‘dampen’ the mood in a second!

We spend most of our waking hours either working or travelling for work and honestly, it takes a toll on our health and hair. And on weekends, we rather have our beauty sleep (Read: Just sleep for hours) than doing anything that requires getting up, let alone a DIY. And, if we do decide to do something for ourselves, say our hair, we would prefer someone else doing it for us (Hello, parlour didi?).

We all love a good hair spa session, don’t we? For those few minutes, all our worries can go to hell ‘coz we know smooth, manageable hair awaits us! And if you don’t have a “How dare you? Tumhara koi haq nahi banta… ki tum itnii khoobsurat lago… Not fair!” moment after a successful hair spa session, what are you even doing in your life?!

Why a hair spa, though?

A hair spa is a new concept, that is also known as ‘rebirth of hair’ in which your hair is conditioned and nourished using designated ingredients that make your hair stronger, longer and glossier from within. The ingredients are used to *reverse* damage, leaving you with silkier hair that you cannot stop touching. The treatment uses essential & exotic oils, hair muds, masks, hair steaming which have proven to be a boon for our forever damaged hair.

If you’re broke or just lazy to book a salon appointment, then put those ‘naani maa ke nuske’ to good use. Prepare a spa-cial DIY hair spa at home which is the perfect way to rejuvenate and bring those dead hair back to life. Let’s keep your all your hair problems at bay as we have a hair spa treatment for each of your hair woes. But first, let’s start with the most basic one.

Step 1: Massage Some Warm Oil Into Your Scalp

Microwave some hair oil for a minute and massage it gently into your hair. This will increase the blood circulation and will result in the growth of your hair.

Step 2: Steam Thy Tresses

Take your towel, dip it in warm water (squeeze out the extra) and wrap it around your head and keep it for 10 minutes. This will allow the hair oil to penetrate deeper into the scalp.

Step 3: Wash Your Hair

Use a mild shampoo to wash your hair. Please note, use lukewarm, if possible cold water on your hair as it helps keep your hair shiny and healthy.

Step 4: Use A Hair Conditioner

Next, use a hair conditioner on your hair. We would suggest you to go *au naturel* since we want only the best for your hair.

Step 5: Use A Hair Mask

Use a hair mask to strengthen your hair from within.

Olive oil has a nourishing effect on the hair and helps it become stronger from within. The banans too have nourishing properties that keep your hair healthy and soft and act as an instant deep conditioning treatment. The egg white has natural biotin which makes your hair strong, prevents hair fall, adds shine, makes your hair softer and soothes the scalp. Chamomile oil promotes hair growth and stimulates the scalp. If this isn’t enough to convince you to try this hair mask, I don’t know what is!

2. Oily Hair

Strawberries have a high content of Vitamin C that also helps remove dandruff and oil from your hair. As you might already know, lemon is the perfect *natural* way to fight off dandruff from our hair but using it alone can do more harm than good. Add the goodness of Henna powder, Shikakai powder, Amla Powder and Reetha powder and bid adieu to dandruff for good. Together, these four powders can do much more than just keeping dandruff away for good. Tea tree oil removes dandruff, unclogs hair follicles and helps regrow your hair.

4. Hairfall

If you find more hair on your brush than plot twists in an Ekta Kapoor serial, you should give this a method a try.

You will need:

  • 2 Eggs
  • Lavender oil
  • Fresh Aloe Vera Gel
  • 1 Ripe Avocado

Lavender oil is known for its soothing properties which calm you down and is good for the tresses too. It conditions your hair, keeps them shiny and nourishes them. Aloe Vera has proteolytic enzymes which are known to repair dead cells on the scalp. Aloe Vera also acts as a superb conditioner and promotes stronger hair and helps keep dandruff at bay.

Both our taste buds and our hair love a dose of avocados and why not? It acts as a natural conditioner for our hair, reduces hair fall, provides proteins to hair and soothes the scalp too.
