DIY Charcoal Face Mask Recipes To Address Every Type Of Skin Concerns

For Acne-Prone Skin

You’ll Need:

  • Aztec bentonite clay powder
  • Probiotic Greek yogurt 
  • Tea tree oil 
  • Organic activated charcoal
  • Water

Method:

Step 1: To a bowl, add 1 tablespoon each of Aztec bentonite clay powder and organic activated. charcoal.

Step 2: Add 1 tablespoon of probiotic greek yogurt, 2 drops of tea tree oil, and 2 teaspoons of water. You can add more water as per the desired consistency and the mas is ready for application.

For Folks With Oily Skin

You'll need:

  • Clay
  • Activated charcoal
  • Probiotic capsules
  • Raw apple cider vinegar
  • Essential oil for acne

Method: 

Step 1: In a bowl, add 1 tablespoon each of activated charcoal and clay.

Step 2: Next, add 2 tablespoons of raw apple cider vinegar. Break open one probiotic capsule and pour the ingredients into the bowl.

Step 3: Add 1 drop of essential oil and stir. With clean fingers, spread over the face and let sit for 15 minutes before rinsing it off with cool water and then layer your fave moisturizer.

For Dry, Dehydrated Skin

You'll need:

  • Aztec bentonite clay powder
  • Vaseline or Grapeseed oil.
  • Organic activated charcoal
  • Water

Method:

Step 1: To a bowl, add 1 tablespoon each of Aztec bentonite clay powder and organic activated charcoal.

Step 2: Then add a nickel-size amount of Vaseline or a few drops of grapeseed oil, whichever is easily available. Next, add 2 teaspoons of water and mix the ingredients thoroughly until you get a smooth paste. 

For Combination Skin Type

You'll Need: 

  • Aztec bentonite clay powder
  • Azulene Oil
  • Chamomile tea
  • Organic activated charcoal
  • Water

Method:

Step 1: Step 1: To a bowl, add 1 tablespoon each of Aztec bentonite clay powder and organic activated charcoal.

Step 2: Next add two drops of pure azulene oil and a few drops of chamomile tea. These ingredients work wonders to provide a natural glow.

Step 3: Then add 2 teaspoons of water and mix the ingredients thoroughly until the consistency feels fine. You can add more water if required.

PSA: When using essential oils, it's important to take precautions especially since these DIYs do not call for a carrier oil to dilute them. The more, the better formula doesn’t apply here, so two drops of each essential oils are sufficient for each of the aforementioned recipes.

And because charcoal masks soak up the excess oil, they might leave your skin feeling dry. We recommend always following it up with a moisturiser for a plump-looking and glowing complexion.
