Divya Agarwal and Varun Sood‘s breakup came as a shock to many! Even after over a year, the actress is still receiving flak for it, especially after she announced her engagement to Apurva Padgaonkar eight months ago. Fans are blaming Divya for allegedly cheating on Varun and breaking his heart. After months of being chastised, Divya finally opened up about the real reason behind her breakup with Varun on Amrita Rao and RJ Anmol’s chat show.
Prior to dating Varun, Divya was in a three-year relationship with Apurva, which she ended because he was not ready for marriage. However, she continued to have a bond with him. In the chat show, Divya revealed that Apurva came back into her life and proposed to her while she was dating Varun, and she actually felt guilty for considering it.
Divya admitted that Apurva asked her to start over again while she was still with Varun. She said, “I told him I am in a relationship, so it’s not possible right now. And then I started being in two minds.” She later visited Apurva’s house with her best friend, and when he showed her his room, she looked at his closet and wondered if there would be a place for her clothes. This made her feel guilty, as she was thinking about being with someone else while dating someone else.
She added, “I was thinking I have a boyfriend outside; what is happening? We left, and I was driving my ex-boyfriend’s car and wondering, what is this life, when we wanted it to work, it didn’t happen.” However, it was after this encounter that Divya decided that something was wrong with her relationship with Varun and decided to call it off.

After her breakup with Varun, Divya felt extremely guilty, but Apurva told her, “You did good to that guy because later it would have been a bigger mess.” The duo went on a trip to Goa and even visited Kuldevi temple together. The actress said that Apurva reminded her of her father because he would also take Divya to all the spiritual places, and she found herself ready for marriage.
It takes guts to be so honest and we applaud Divya Agarwal for being truthful. There are no rules when it comes to love; it just happens.
