Amp It Up: 8 Cool and Easy Ways to Style a Simple Scarf

The scarf, which was originally worn around the neck, has now become a multipurpose fashion accessory. Whether it’s a thick and cosy one worn on a winter day, or a light floral one on a summer day, it’s an all-time favourite. This summer, don’t hesitate to experiment with any of these 8 ways to style a scarf!

1.  The French Knot

One of the easiest and most elegant ways to tie a scarf around your neck is the French way. It usually works better if you have a square-shaped scarf like the one we have recommended.

How to do it: Fold your scarf diagonally in half, and wrap it around your neck once. Tie the two ends into a knot and turn it to the side.

2. The Headband

A very cool way of using a scarf is as a headband. Use a light skinny scarf for this one and get a gypsy-bohemian look in only a few minutes.

How to do it: Fold the scarf horizontally. Wrap the scarf around your head with the middle of the scarf at the nape of your neck. Twist the two ends around each other once. Wrap the scarf back down to the bottom of your head and knot with a bow!

3.  The Turban

Ever had a bad hair day, and wondered whether you should even bother stepping out of your house? A quick solution to this problem is to wrap a scarf around your head in a few easy steps. Not only is it quick but also extremely stylish.

How to do it: Use a long rectangular scarf. Center the scarf on your forehead and collect the rest at the nape of your neck like a ponytail. Tie a knot and bring each side to the front. Criss-cross each side on top of your head and tuck in the ends at the back.

Can a scarf be worn as a belt? Yes! Use a light thin scarf, wrap it around your waist and tie a bow in the front. This is a fun way of adding a little bit of character to your outfit.
