It seems like just yesterday that Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas broke the internet with their baby announcement on the ‘Gram! Since then, we’ve been dying to know the name of their li’l princess and it appears that our prayers have been answered! We finally have an exciting update to share with all the #NickYanka fans and trust us, it is HUGE.
According to an international publication, Priyanka and Nick’s daughter’s name is *drumroll please* Malti Marie Chopra Jonas. NGL, this sounds like the cutest name for the little munchkin and we can’t wait for Nick and PC to announce it officially!
The name Malti is of Sanskrit origin, and it means “fragrant flower” or “moonlight,” whereas the name Marie has Latin roots and it stands for “star of the sea.” Also, it is a tribute to PC’s mom, whose full name is Dr Madhumalti Chopra. Isn’t that so sweet and sentimental? It certainly warms our hearts to see how the couple have kept their respective cultures and heritage in mind while naming of their baby girl.
Now, all we are waiting for is a glimpse of little baby Malti Marie! We can bet that she is a total cutie like her parents.
Along Came Baby Chopra-Jonas!
Earlier this year, Priyanka and Nick sent the netizens into a frenzy by announcing that they have become parents. “We are overjoyed to confirm that we have welcomed a baby via surrogate. We respectfully ask for privacy during this special time as we focus on our family. Thank you so much,” the couple wrote on social media.
According to a source close to the stars, Priyanka and Nick had received plenty of name suggestions from their friends and family but they wanted to pick something unique for their daughter.
We are so glad that Nick and Priyanka have finally picked the perfect name for their baby girl! Now, all we are hoping for is a snap of baby Malti on the ‘Gram. Can someone make it happen already?
