When we think of sass, wit and sarcasm, most of us think about the one and only Karan Johar. If you are a KJo fan, we have a major update for you all and it is gonna make your mid-week blues disappear. As it turns out the filmmaker is possibly coming back with a new season of Koffee with Karan.
We got this update straight from the horse’s mouth. Karan recently went live on Instagram from the sets of Hunarbaaz. KJo spilled the beans about the new season of Koffee With Karan and said, “I am not authorised to say anything on Koffee with Karan. But good news coming up really soon from that department.”
OMG, we need a moment to calm down ‘coz this is the announcement we were waiting for. Finally, the makers heard our prayers and we are hella excited about this.
This is not the first time Karan Johar has dropped a major hint about Koffee With Karan. Last year, the filmmaker shared a picture of a mug with ‘Coffee’ written over it and wrote, ‘with’.
A while ago, Karan spoke at length about the show and how he tried to connect with the audience. He shared, “You know how they say, ‘Dance like no one’s watching,’ so this (Koffee With Karan) just means chat like no one’s listening. Everyone’s been coming and have a great time. It’s not about gossip, scandal or anything topical. It’s just a 45-minute chat about nothing. For all the purists of conversations, it may not be great. But for all those who’re looking for a good time, it is. Which is why millennials are really taking to the show. The viewership is very skewed to the younger demographic.”
The last season of Koffee With Karan dropped online in 2018 and it landed in a massive soup for one particular episode. It all started when Indian cricketers Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul made their way to the show. It was an episode marred with misogyny, sexism, and racism. This caused a massive uproar in the country and the show came to a halt.
We hope season 7 is more about girl power and less about unnecessary drama. P.S Can KJo get Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal on the couch? After all, this is where it all began.
