Dia Mirza, recently sat down with Tweak India to give us an insight into her daily life and what she’s been up to off of the big screen. A house full of kids is not enough to take the glow away from her face and her glass skin is still the envy of the industry. If you’re wondering how to nail that glowing skin, let me just say right away that it’s more than just fancy creams and serums. It’s more than just skin deep!
“There are different kinds of water that I consume throughout the day,” says the former Femina Miss India Asia Pacific Winner. Hydration is a big factor in clear skin; it’s like a shield against dryness and oiliness. Proper hydration helps to maintain oil balance and also works to flush out toxins that cause your skin to look dull and tired. Plus, well-hydrated skin can better defend itself against environmental nasties like pollution and harsh weather.
But drinking water can be boring. I know this is not a real problem, but there are a lot of ways to solve it – so here are Dia’s favourite ways to make sure she’s getting enough vitamins through water on a daily basis.
Morning Ki Kali Chai
Dia’s morning starts with kali chai – black tea-infused lemongrass and jaggery. Black tea is packed with antioxidants that protect the skin from premature ageing and environmental damage. Lemongrass, the unsung hero of clear skin, has antiseptic properties that help reduce acne and give you that flawless complexion. As for jaggery? This natural sweetener is a goldmine of minerals as well as more antioxidants. Nature’s favourite sweetener, this is basically a detox drink in a delicious disguise!
Afternoon Ka Alkalised Water
Dia switches up her hydration game with alkalised water throughout the day. Alkalised water is basically like regular water with a pH level that loves your skin. Dia adds cucumber and mint for that extra hydrating and soothing effect. The concoction helps reduce excess acidity on the skin, preventing breakouts and irritation. Plus, it’s a hydration powerhouse, keeping your skin plump and happy. If you’re low on these, you can also add baking soda or lemon juice to yours!
Raat Ko Ajwain and Saunf
For the Bheed actor, winters are all about ajwain and saunf paani. She likes to boil them together and sip on it. Ajwain is a detox champion, purifying your skin from the inside and fighting off blemishes while saunf is your skin’s BFF – loaded with hydrating properties and essential oils that help maintain skin elasticity and promote a healthy glow. Together, they’re a dynamic duo, keeping your skin clear, soft, and radiant. And let’s be honest, nothing beats a cup of sweet saunf paani on a cold winter night.
Other Options For Tasty Water
If you don’t have the time or the energy to soak some fruits and veggies or boil spices, here are a few supplements you can add to your water. If you make the process more interesting, it should be easier to commit to!
Dia Mirza is all about sipping your way to glowing skin. It’s practical and oh-so-effective. So next time you brew your morning chai or fill your water bottle, remember to add a little something for your skin!
