Dia Mirza Makes Her Own Face Scrub With These Natural Ingredients

I’m always blown away by Dia Mirza’s natural beauty. And one might assume that she goes in for regular salon treatments, but that isn’t the case at all. Dia is actually a practitioner of clean beauty rituals and she has one amazing DIY recipe that caught my fancy.

Apparently, Dia Mirza makes her own face scrub and swears by it. She uses all natural ingredients to make it and she says it keeps her skin hydrated and clear.

What Is Dia Mirza’s DIY Face Scrub?

Dia Mirza said she is trying to make her beauty routine more sustainable and therefore she opts for tons of DIY remedies instead of OTC products. And Dia has a DIY to replace a regular face scrub. In an interview she said, “To keep my skin well hydrated and rid it of impurities, I use a natural scrub of walnut, plum and aloe vera and moisturise with either coconut or olive oil.”

While moisturising with coconut oil or olive oil isn’t suitable for all skin types, using a homemade face scrub with aloe vera gel will benefit all skin types as it is hydrating and soothing.

Another lightweight gel-based face scrub I like to use is the Manish Malhotra Methi Face Scrub Gel.

How To Make Dia Mirza’s DIY Face Scrub

Finely crush and grind some walnut shells to form a grainy powder. Mix a tablespoon of aloe vera gel with a tablespoon of crushed plum in a bowl. Add a tablespoon of the walnut shell powder and your scrub is ready to use.

Apply this scrub on your face and massage in circular motions. Rinse it off with water and moisturise

My favourite moisturiser to use after this DIY scrub is the fruity PureSense Pink Guava Day Cream because it also provides SPF 20 protection.

Benefits Of Using Dia Mirza’s Homemade Face Scrub

Because it’s made of all natural ingredients, Dia Mirza’s DIY face scrub has tons of benefits.

  • Walnut shell is used as an exfoliating agent in many OTC face scrubs, but making your own walnut shell powder ensures there are no other contaminants like microplastics used in the scrub.
  • Plums are rich in vitamin C and it can help reduce dark spots, freckles and it will help even out the skin tone too.
  • Aloe vera gel is the best skin hydrator for all skin types and it also has a soothing effect on blemishes.
  • This DIY face scrub will help make the skin feel plump, hydrated, and squeaky clean without any dryness or irritation.

I’m loving Dia Mirza’s face scrub because it makes my skin feel clean and hydrated. And it also feels as good, or maybe even better than some OTC face scrubs.
