Deepika Padukone Shares Her COVID-19 Experience & We Hope It Encourages People To Stay Indoors

It’s been almost two years since the COVID-19 pandemic took over our lives. The first wave was difficult for all of us and while many thought they’d be fully prepared for the second wave, it hit even harder. Several Bollywood celebs also tested positive at the time, and Deepika Padukone was one of them.

In May, during the second wave, Deepika and Ranveer Singh were in Bangalore to spend time with the actress’s family. The couple along with her parents, and sister had tested positive for the virus. While DP did give us an update about their well-being back then, she’s never spoken about her experience of battling the deadly virus—until now.

During a recent interview with a leading daily, Deepika shed light on her experience of getting COVID-19 and the impact it had on her for months. She said, “Lockdown two was also very different because everyone in my family, including me, had COVID at the same time. Life after COVID changed for me because physically, I was unrecognizable completely… I think (due to) the medication I was given, the steroids that I was put on.” She further added that it was a weird experience altogether.

Talking up about her life after she tested negative, she revealed, “I felt that when I had the illness it was still okay but after that, I needed to take two months off work because my mind wasn’t working.” Deepika also mentioned that it was a very difficult phase for her.

Well, we really hope Deepika’s COVID-19 experience encourages people to follow the necessary protocols and stay indoors as there’s a sudden rise in daily cases. We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again—precaution is better than cure. Stay home, stay safe!
