4 Insta-Famous Hacks To Nail The Cut-Crease Eye Makeup Trend Like A Pro

Admit it: getting that cut-crease eye makeup right is kind of hard. Sure, you can live with whatever you managed to conjure up with brushes and a basic skill set, but what if we told you there are other ways of doing things? Enter the internet’s weirdest eyeshadow hacks that promise to nail the cut-crease trend like a pro each time. The reason why these viral hacks work so well is that they are vivid enough to show up on camera and that means they are also going to look super sharp IRL. Not to forget how they aim to ease the application process so that people like us (with little to no artistic skill) can also ace our way to makeup glory. So are you ready for them? Here they are…

Eye Makeup Hacks To Nail The Cut-Crease Eyeshadow Trend

See that clearly defined crease and highlighted lids? That’s exactly the kind of pro-level finish we are after and these hacks are here to help.

Spooning

The idea of using a spoon to do your eye makeup does seem ridiculous but trust the process because this is a really good hack. Once you’ve applied your eyeshadow base, cover your lids with a spoon; the tip should be at the inner corner of your lids. Now, take the dark shade that you want to use over your crease and blend it along the side of the spoon that is tracing your crease lines. The results are a sharp crease definition that would’ve otherwise taken a lot of time, skill, and energy to create.

Tape Zone

This one uses masking tape to shape out your crease and lids. Simply draw a semi-circle on the tape and cut it out. Stick the tape on your lids and begin to apply the eyeshadow of choice on your crease. Once done, take off the tape and you can easily apply the lighter eyeshadows or glitter on your lids knowing that it will look sharp AF.

Curve Cop

An eyelash curler for applying eyeshadow? What a shocker! And the results are also surprisingly good. For this one, you can go crazy with your eyeshadow application on your lids and then bring out the curler for an instant cut-crease. It requires you to apply concealer to the curved edge of the tool and then stamp it on your crease using your inner corner as a starting point. This creates a clear line which you then fill in with more concealer and a brush. From then on you can just add whatever glitter or shade of eyeshadow you want to complete the look.

Sponge Plunge

When you don’t have anything but a makeup sponge to spare, this eyeshadow hack can come in handy. It involves using the tip of your beauty blender to stamp on concealer or a light eyeshadow to create that cut-crease effect. Some are using any pointed beauty blender they can get while others are using the flat side of their blenders to stamp on eyeshadow or concealer on the lids. Some people are even going as far as cutting up their blenders in semi-circles so that they can use it to create the cut-crease trend every time with ease.

The internet sure is bananas when it comes to makeup hacks and we love it all the same. Which of these tricks are you going to try out?
