We’ve been waiting for Ekta Kapoor’s new show ever since she announced it on social media last week. The producer promised that it was going to be unlike any reality shows in the country, and that was enough to have all our attention. Kangana Ranaut will be hosting the series and the first look that went up on Insta yesterday seemed quite interesting. However, we wish the same could be said for the promo that was released a few hours ago.
The video starts with Kangana saying that there are two types of people in the world–those who are like her and the others are B-grade strugglers who love to spew hate about her. Umm? She then goes on to state that a lot of people tried to bring her down by using “nepotism ka formulae”, and made a reality show out of her life, but it’s her turn now. She adds, “Main la rahi hu, the baap of the biggest reality shows. My Jail, my rules.” She further reveals that 16 controversial celebrities would be participating in the show. The actress also proudly brags that she’ll be the one who’ll decide what will happen to them. Have a look at the cringe-worthy promo here:
TBH, we don’t have a problem with the show or the concept, but it’s Kangana attitude that has us worried. Calling people who do not like her B-graders is simply not done. Just because she’s successful, that does not give her any right to look down upon struggling actors. And how many times is she going to bring up the topic of nepotism? We think she needs to focus on the show and talk about things she hasn’t already spoken about in the past.
Well, here’s hoping Lock Upp isn’t actually as cringe-worthy as the promo!
