The COSrx BHA Blackhead Power Liquid Actually Made My Large Pores Look Smaller!

Snail mucin was still building its name in the Indian skincare world when I read about a product that was meant for those like me, who struggle with oily skin. Since I’d tried everything else, I thought I might as well give the COSrx BHA Blackhead Power Face Care Liquid a shot too.

What Is It?

The BHA Blackhead Power Face Care Liquid is a gentle exfoliant that works to remove blackheads and sebum from the pores. It contains willow bark extract and niacinamide that boost the skin’s glow from within. Sodium hyaluronate, another ingredient keeps the skin hydrated. This COSrx product also claims to build the skin’s barrier.

Our Thoughts

Ngl, I was tempted by the claims this product made. The brand too is now a cult favourite so I had to try it. Initially, I was skeptical. All products that claimed to reduce pore size and manage blackheads I had previously used were harsh, stripped my skin of moisture and left it feeling drier than usual. But the BHA Blackhead Power Liquid did the exact opposite. It feels and looks like water and gets so easily absorbed by the skin, you’ll think you need more.

Initially, I felt and saw no difference but consistency is key. In a month, I got asked what facial I had gotten even though I hadn’t been to the salon in ages. My skin too felt softer to touch. All the small bumps that gave it an uneven texture were just gone! And I also realised I didn’t need to keep dabbing my dace with a tissue to get rid of the oil buildup. And my pores? I had to bend over a basin to look at them clearly in the mirror – something I’ve never done, because that’s how minimal they seem now.

Unfortunately, this product hasn’t done too much for my blackheads. They haven’t completely vanished, I still succumb to nose strips, just not as often as I used to. This product hasn’t eradicated them like I initially expected, but they’re definitely lesser than what they used to be. And that’s something I can live with after years of being told I’d have to resort to scooping them out to get rid of them.

How To Use It

After cleansing and toning, apply this on the target areas, usually the T-zone. Avoid the eyes. If you’re using this in the morning, make sure you apply sunscreen after.

Also, start off slow. Even though it doesn’t feel harsh on the skin, it still is an exfoliant. Use maybe 2-3 times a week at first and then increase the regularity.

What It Looks Like

It’s a transparent liquid that both, looks and feels like water on the skin.

Good To Know
Key Ingredients: Willow bark extract, niacinamide, sodium hyaluronate.
Does What It Claims: Reduces sebum production, makes pores less visible.

In Conclusion

This product is one of those I'd pick when asked questions like "If you could have one product with you on an island which would it be?" And not just because it helps control sebum production and restores the barrier, but also because it lasts forever! A little goes a long way so one bottle is going to last you an entire year - no cap!
