As one of those college graduates who started their career trajectory through online meetings and WFH settings, I’ve never truly had the chance to put to test the one lesson my mother taught me as a young individual who loved her job: how to look good in the office.
The revived trend goes beyond dressing well for the office though, it’s more about fitting your personality into the rules of corporate dressing without prompting a visit to HR. Picture Gisele Bündchen’s fleeting yet unforgettable portrayal of Serena in the iconic Devil Wears Prada. From elements of the Valentino SS24 collection to featuring in Bella Hadid’s personal wardrobe, corp-core has always been the cool kid at the fashion table. The GenZ crowd is just new to it, so here’s how to replicate it.
First, Nail The Outfit
Think tailored suits with a twist, short, pinstriped pencil skirts that mean business, and the indispensable white shirt and jeans combo – corp-core is an homage to the power dressers of yesteryears, now with a modern twist. No exaggerated power shoulders, instead we’re into sleek silhouettes, stilettos, and flared pants.

First impressions count, and in the world of corp-core, your face is your first handshake. Embrace neutral shades like beige, brown, and nude for a subtle yet commanding presence. Remember, high-quality makeup doesn’t just look better, it lasts longer, ensuring you stay flawless from your first morning email to your last evening meeting.
Less is more, here so aim for a minimal, natural look. Think light foundation, a dab of concealer, a hint of blush or bronzer, neutral eyeshadows, and mascara to bring out your eyes, topped off with a neutral or soft pink lip. Here’s how to really put it together:
