3 Common Baking Mistakes That May Be Ruining Your Face Beat

#1: Instead Of Using Translucent Powder

The key to baking correctly is finding the right shade for you. The shade should suit your skin tone so your complexion looks bomb. However, this step is often overlooked when it comes to powder. When baking, most of us use translucent powder. But the secret here is to use a powder that brightens your unique skin tone as well as the undertone.

Try A Shade That Brightens Your Skin

You may have noticed a pink powder hack flooding your FYP for a couple of months. The technique basically used a pink-toned setting powder to bake and cover up dark circles. While pink powder works wonder to brighten medium to fair skin tones, yellow-toned powders give the most gorgeous finish to medium to rick complexions.

#2: Instead Of Going Overboard

We love a full-glam moment. However, when it comes to baking, it’s best to take the less is more approach.

Try Less-Is-More Approach

If you layer too much baking powder, your face might end up looking cakey. The excess powder will sit atop your skin. This means instead of smoothing out, it’ll give your face a chalky and dry finish.

#3: Instead Of Using Just One Tool

The key to avoid your face to look cakey is using the right technique and product.

Try Using A Damp Sponge And A Fluffy Brush

As far as baking is concerned, you need to have two tools in your arsenal. All you need is a makeup sponge and a fluffy brush to nail the Kim Kardashian-level glam. Before you start the baking process make sure that your sponge is damp as it’ll allow the sponge to pick up the powder and melt into the skin. Take some product on the damp sponge and then gently press it onto the skin. Let it sit for three to five minutes before lightly dusting it off with a fluffy brush. If you love a softer look, a two-minute bake would do the trick. The more time it sits on the skin, the longer the staying power.
