Lace sarees have been around but it’s only now that we’re seeing so much of it on celebs and on the runway. And we can’t dismiss the fact that they look absolutely gorgeous. Nothing flatters your curves like a lace saree does! But before you set out to buy yourself this stunning new style, we are here to give you some lessons in lace. Just so you totally can rock that lace saree!
Lace and its types
Yes, lace comes in various styles and types. There is the finely detailed chantilly French lace wherein the threads are woven together and held in place with pins. The needle lace is made using very fine needles and thread. There is also crocheted lace and cutwork lace made by removing threads from a woven background. But when it comes to sarees, the Chantilly lace definately looks extremely graceful and elegant.
How to wear lace sarees!

Recently Lara Dutta wore a sexy black lace saree by Sabyasachi and, boy, she looks like such a stunner! Her blouse was kept clean and simple with cut sleeves and a deep neck, thus balancing her overall look.
There are just a few things to keep in mind when wearing lace. Since it’s a delicate fabric, avoid wearing any jewellery that might constantly come in contact with the saree and cause it to tear. Bangles, sharp earrings or long necklaces are best avoided.

Bollywood style goddess shows us just how to mix lace with florals! We love how she’s paired her red-hot lace saree with a fun, colourful crop style blouse. Such a perfect mix!
Also, too much lace could be a spoiler. Experiment with different styles such as lace pallu, lace blouse, or a lace saree with a fabric blouse. We also love the fabric saree with just lace pleats. See, there is so much that you can do!
