Show The Sharara Some Love With These Celebrity Approved Styles!

It’s been over a decade since Shamita Shetty showed off her mean belly-dancing moves in the song, Sharara Sharara from Mere Yaar Ki Shadi Hai. But we can’t help groove to the beat every time someone mentions the aforementioned Indian outfit. The wedding season isn’t over just yet and in the midst of all the lovely Indian wear inspiration, the sharara stands out. The flared piece that had quite a moment last year and if you’re on the lookout for something you can sport to a winter wedding, here are 9 celebrity-approved shararas to up your game!

1. Pastel Hues

We’re sure you have at least one brocade kurta in your closet. If you don’t, raid your mom’s wardrobe and you’re sure to find one! Brocade kurtas look great with shararas in the same hue or in a completely contrasting colour. We’re eyeing Alia’s pistachio green pastel sharara!

This green gota patti border sharara (Rs 550) is good for a casual affair.

2. Colour Me Yellow!

Yellow was undoubtedly the colour ruling Indian wear in 2017. For this year’s wedding season too, we’d suggest you get a kurta sharara set in shade bordering around ochre and mustard. Take a cue from Aditi and invest in a raw silk set to stay warm!

3. Mauve Magic

Kriti’s mauve sharara with golden embellishments at the border gives the otherwise Indian piece a trendy twist. The crushed fabric instantly dresses up the ensemble. To make the embroidered cami top winter appropriate, style it with a golden cape or fringed jacket!

4. Block Prints FTW

We think Bipasha’s simple, elegant outfit is ideal for a haldi or sangeet ceremony. The plain kurta with minimal work along with the block printed sharara strikes a perfect balance. Accessorise this look with a pair of embellished golden juttis and statement jhumkas.

5. Desi Vibes

Malaika’s ivory and gold sharara is a versatile piece that can be used even after the wedding season. We love her simple take on these shararas by pairing it with a basic white kurta. But you can dress it up by teaming it up with a rust-coloured kurti and pastel green dupatta!

These navy blue shararas with a slight ruffle (Rs 3,399) will make quite a statement!

6. Quirk Alert

We’re copying this quirky set by Masaba exactly how it is! The dupatta, sharara and the kurti are quite bold standalone pieces but when put together, the prints don’t clash and instead, make for a balanced attire. We love!

7. Say Yes to Pink!

Investing in a plain sharara is a great idea. You can style it in innumerable ways for a winning look every single time. We like how Neha has ditched the dupatta and went heavy on the kurta by choosing a rich fabric.

Add a pop of colour to your look with this bright pink sharara set with a green dupatta (Rs 6,696).

8. Dark Fantasy

Kareena’s black and golden sharara set is giving us serious colour combination goals. It’s classy, bold and feminine at the same time. Take tips from Bebo and go heavy on the borders of the kurta to draw all the attention on the sharara.
