5 Bollywood-Inspired Buns That Look Stunning With Indian Outfits

Navratris have started and even though the fever is very different this year, there’s no harm in getting ready and looking pretty for your at-home pooja. Because of the pandemic, everyone is celebrating Durga puja and garba season online or in extremely small groups but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t dress the part.

We say, put on your fave Indian ensemble, do up your hair, throw on a pair of jhumkis and get ready to have a gala time. To get you in the mood, we’ve curated a list of our fave Bollywood hair buns that go really well with a desi attire.

Messy And Textured Is The Way To Go

This kind of a messy bun goes with a plethora of outfits including Anarkali, sarees, and lehengas. It adds volume and is still kept in place with bobby pins so that you won’t be worried about your hair flying around through the night. All you’ve to do is twist random sections of your hair into knots and secure them in place. Open the sections and tie it all into a messy bun as usual. Apply some sea salt hairspray to add texture to your strands.

Never Go Wrong With Gajra

Gajra has a way of glamming up any Indian look and Deepika Padukone knows how to do it just right. Comb your hair back all the way and then tie it up in a bun. If you have thick hair then you’re lucky otherwise you can also use jooda stuffing to make your bun appear fuller. You can use fresh flowers or buy artificial ones too.

Volume All The Way

Sometimes buns can make your hair look flat but Bebo teaches us that that’s not the only way to go. Keep the crown of your head messy and create a tiny puff so that you give the illusion of having more voluminous hair. This is a great hairstyle to pair with an Indo-western outfit and silver, bohemian jewelry.

Slick Back Updo

This is for those of you who want to truly celebrate the festive season in all its traditional glory. Anushka Sharma does the classic, slicked back bun in a beautiful way with a centre parting. Use a fine-toothed comb to really get your hair to stick together and use hair serum so that they are fewer flyaways.

For people who like to have a few hair strands framing their faces, you can go with this hairstyle. It’s messy, gorgeous, and super versatile. You can leave front sections of your hair loose so that you look casual yet put together for your Zoom festivities.

P.S.: Festive season is never complete without a radiance boost and we suggest trying out the Glow Sheet Mask because it’s super hydrating and comes with micro-particles that will brighten up the skin.
