Ready Or Not, P.S. I Love You Is Getting A Sequel & It’ll Make Your Heart Bleed (Again)

Grab all the tissues you possibly can and mark your calendars. After a long wait of 15 years, author Cecelia Ahern confirmed that she’d be releasing a sequel to the most popular tear-jerker of all time, P.S. I Love You. Titled Postscript, the sequel will be published by Harper Collins and is due for release on September 19th this year.

She took to Instagram and wrote, “I’ve written the sequel to P.S. I LOVE YOU and it’s titled POSTSCRIPT. It’s the P.S to my P.S of 15 years ago and writing it has been an emotional experience. POSTSCRIPT will be published September 19th in the UK & Ireland. I hope you’ll welcome back Holly…and Gerry…and ugly cry through the story as much as I did.💙”

P.S. I Love You was Cecelia’s debut novel that became a New York Times bestseller before it was adapted for the big screen in 2007 in the blockbuster film starring Hilary Swank and Gerard Butler. The sequel, Postscript, revisits the characters seven years. The first book centred around Holly Kennedy after the untimely passing of her husband Gerry. She is approached by a group called the ‘P.S. I Love You Club’, which is comprised of people who find themselves in the same situation as Holly’s late husband Gerry, and who want her help writing letters to leave behind for their own loved ones. The synopsis of the book gives us a little glimpse into the plotline: “Holly is sure of one thing – no way is she being dragged back to the grief she has left behind. It’s taken seven years to reinvent herself, and she’s ready to move on with her life. But Holly comes to realise that when you love someone, there’s always one more thing to say…”

Is it going to another heart-wrenching love story by Ahern? We can’t wait to find out. I am pre-ordering my copy RIGHT NOW.

Me Before You has all the quintessential elements of a romance novel – a wealthy suitor, a quirky heroine and a relationship that begins with enmity and ends with kisses. Louisa Clark takes a badly needed job working for Will Traynor, who is wheelchair-bound after an accident. When she learns that Will has shocking plans, she sets out to show him that life is still worth living.

Also, folks, did I mention the fact that the film adaptation of Me Before You even stars Emilia Clarke aka Daenerys from Game of Thrones?

A Walk to Remember, set in 1958–1959 in Beaufort, North Carolina, is a story of two teenagers who fall in love with each other despite their polar-opposite personalities. Every April, when the wind smells of both the sea and lilacs, Landon Carter remembers 1958, his last year at Beaufort High. Landon had dated a girl or two, and even once sworn that he’d been in love. Certainly the last person he thought he’d fall for was Jamie, the shy daughter of the town’s Baptist minister… Jamie, who was destined to show him the depths of the human heart, and the joy and pain of living.

This timeless novel has also been adapted into a movie by the same name, which is directed by Adam Shankman and stars Shane West and Mandy Moore.
