Bruna Abdullah, the Brazillian actress has called Mumbai home for a few years now. Born and raised in Brazil, she came to Mumbai as a tourist and fell into the lap of Bollywood! Better known for her roles in Grand Masti and I Hate Luv Storys, Bruna has also featured on shows like Khatron Ke Khiladi and Dancing Queen. She married her Scottish boyfriend Allan Fraser in a beautiful ceremony in Thailand earlier this year.
Bruna recently gave birth to her first child, a baby girl named Isabella. She chose to give birth to her baby, the natural way – in a warm pool of water. No drugs and no hospitals! Her story on natural childbirth is nothing short of an inspiration.
Bruna shared her birthing story in an Instagram post that will leave you both, in awe and shock.
Bruna gave birth to baby Isabelle in a pool of warm water, while she was surrounded by her near and dear ones.
Even before she got pregnant, Bruna has always known she wanted to give birth, the natural way. Her Instagram post narrating her birthing story was captioned “My Birth Story 🤱🏻💕 Even before I was pregnant I knew I would have a water birth! I wanted the birth of my baby to be as gentle as possible and without any drugs, I hated the idea of having to deal with the side effects of all the medication they would give me at the hospital.”
Bruna also wrote about she imagined a “calm and soothing environment” and she was surrounded only by the people who made her feel good and excited about that moment. “
“I was lucky enough to have had all that! I had my baby in a warm water pool, my husband, my mother, my doctor and my doula were there with me,” she added.
She prepared herself well for that D-day. And here’s something she regularly followed, “I worked out regularly, I ate a very well balanced diet, I meditated and visualised every single detail. I wanted to deliver my baby on a Saturday, I wanted the labour to be no longer than 4 hours, I wanted to deliver my baby in the pool, and I wanted to do it drug free! I got all of that!”
Well, we have to say, that’s quite brave of you, Bruna! She also revealed how she could feel the pain during contractions, “I feel like a superhero, kind of invincible, now I feel like I can do anything .. it was important to me to be fully in control, awake, for the arrival of my baby. I wanted nature to do its job! It was magical, I had no idea I was so strong, I felt everything with so much intensity, her descent, the contractions.. that as soon as it was over, the only thing I could feel was love and pure happiness! The pain vanished, I recovered in minutes, and I was able to enjoy her from the very first minute!”
In an interview with a leading daily, Bruna said that her family and Allan’s family were thrilled to hear the news of the bun in the oven. “Our baby is growing well and healthy. Our families were over the moon when we shared the news with them. My mother has waited her whole life for this day. I think this is the most beautiful surprise of our lives. The baby is 22 weeks old and we are waiting with bated breath for him/her to arrive. Allan and I are grateful and ready for parenthood. We are settled and have everything we would need. I’m excited and very happy”
Bruna and Allan tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony in Thailand. She posted a heartwarming family photo from the wedding expressing her gratitude for having great parents. “It’s only because of you that we are here! Thank you for being the best parents, for always looking out for us and for teaching us to love and respect. Without you we wouldn’t be half of what we are today ✨ We love you”
We’re inspired and amazed at your strength, Bruna. Here’s wishing you, Allan and Isabelle love, luck and light!
