If 2020 was all about intimate weddings and minimal bridal looks, this year the drift seems to be towards the avant-garde bride. She is suave, she is confident, and every bit unique. And we just stumbled upon someone who fits the bill perfectly well. Dr. Jaspreet K. Sandhu recently tied the knot in a vibrant gurudwara ceremony and nothing, we mean NOTHING says OTT like this bride’s 101 kali lehenga. Here’s everything that we are loving about the outfit:
Some Old World Charm & Jaspreet’ Maximalist Lehenga
For the anand karaj ceremony, Jaspreet went for a Plumtin Motif lehenga with 101 kalis. The lehenga featured traditional details and the maximalist appeal of the outfit was further elevated by its real zari work. The magenta lehenga was adorned with peacock motifs and orange resham accents.
We are truly loving the fact that Jaspreet went for a full-sleeved kurti instead of a blouse. This statement look can be a great inspiration for someone who does not want to show off a lot of skin. Her minimal jaal dupatta and its scalloped edges are worth noticing as well.
The Oh-So-Regal Jewels
Keeping up with the maximalist vibe of her outfit, Jaspreet opted for vivid jewels embellished with emeralds and lapiz stones. Going all out with her head jewels, she paired an OTT maang tikka with a statement passa that beautifully complemented her intricately crafted nath.
Hair & Makeup
Known for her dewy makeup, MUA Mira Sakhrani completed Jaspreet’s look with a simple chignon and sun-kissed skin. Mira highlighted Jaspreet’s eyes and kept her lips subtle with a nude colour. We think it’s a great look especially if you going for heavy finery and a maximalist appeal.
Here’s what you’ll need to recreate the look:
Well, amid a sea of pastel bridal looks, we are really digging this maximalist bride and recommend her lehenga-kurti pairing in case you want to go for a statement look while keeping it traditional.
