Once you’ve ordered your wedding lehenga, booked the makeup artist and bought bridal jewellery, your gorgeous bridal look is almost in place. Prepping your hair and skin is all that is left. As far as your hair goes, all you need is 2 months and you can convert your otherwise dull, dry mane into glossy tresses that are full of life on your wedding day! Here are some mane-changing home remedies for the bride-to-be.
Try Simple Home Remedies For Hair Treatment
1. Excellent Eggs And Yoghurt
This one’s smelly, but goody. Mix one egg (with the yolk) with 2 tablespoons of yoghurt and squeeze half a lemon in it. Apply this mask on your hair for about 45 minutes. Rinse off and shampoo your hair to get rid of the smell and flaky egg remains in your hair. This might sound messy but eggs are great at nourishing your hair and the lemon and yoghurt cleanse and moisturize the scalp. A healthy scalp leads to healthy hair, ladies. Do this once a week and watch your hair shine on your big day.
2. Hot Oil Massage, Anyone?
Be it almond, olive or coconut oil, or a mix of all – add 1-2 curry leaves to it and heat the mixture. Massage this well into your hair and scalp and watch it work wonders. This one will never fail you, the bride-to-be. Try and do this each time you have to take a head bath.
3. Don’t Miss The Milk Rinse
Raw milk rinse sounds gross, we know. But truth be told, future brides – the benefits are worth it. Pour raw milk over your hair and watch it moisturize your dry tresses. Leave this on for a few minutes and then rinse it with water. A more practical way to go about it would be to keep a mixture of half-raw milk and half water in a spray bottle and sprinkle some in your hair for some time before you head into the shower. It works like magic – do this once or twice a week!
4. Mud’s The Magic Potion
Cleopatra did this too! Make a paste with Multani Mitti and water and apply that on your hair. Wash it off once it dries up. The cooling and moisture-retaining benefits of this mud pack are beyond everything you can imagine. Doing this treatment once a week should do the job, ladies.
5. Beer Basics
Open up that beer lying in your fridge and pour in onto your head. Leave it in your hair for 10-15 minutes and rinse it off with plain water. Beers condition the hair deeply and leave it glossy and bouncy – just how you want it on your wedding day! A beer rinse once every two weeks should be good enough.
6. Hey Honey
Honey has anti-bacterial properties and locks in a good amount of moisture in your dry and dull hair. Mix 2 spoons honey in 2 cups of warm water and spray it onto your hair. Leave this on for about half an hour and shampoo your hair after. Do this twice a week and watch your hair come back to life, brides-to-be.
7. Ace The Aloe Vera Gel
Aloe vera gel is quite the all-rounder. Be it for blemishes on your skin or dull and lifeless hair, its nourishing anti-inflammatory properties are a great solution. Aloe gel also combats frizz and lends a natural sheen to your tresses. Add some of it to your shampoo or conditioner and use that like you normally would for a hair wash. Get on with it brides, and make your hair wedding ready.
