Ranveer Singh’s upcoming movie Jayeshbhai Jordaar is creating a lot of buzz ATM and for all the right reasons. Its trailer dropped yesterday and the comedy-drama is about smashing the patriarchy. The actor is changing the definition of ‘heroism’ in Bollywood with his role, and the audience is loving him in the three-minute-long clip. His character goes against his family who is obsessed with having a grandson, to save his wife and their unborn daughter. He is not afraid to show vulnerability and fear, and is ready to challenge societal norms that promote toxic masculinity. We’re sure that Ranveer’s performance is going to be quite ‘jordaar‘ and he will prove to be an amazing dad in the movie.
But wait, we’re sure that the actor is going to be a wonderful father IRL too and his recent interview is proof of that. During a media interaction, Ranveer was asked if he would like to have a girl or boy as his first child. His witty reply has won our hearts and we’re sure that Deepika Padukone would be super proud of her hubby.
While talking about his preference regarding his first child, Ranveer used a dialogue from his upcoming movie and said, “They don’t ask if you want laddu or sheera when you go to the temple. Because it is prasad; whatever you get should be treated with reverence. The same rationale applies here. Whatever God gives us, whether a girl or a boy, we will accept whole-heartedly.”
Well said, Ranveer! Last year, he revealed his baby plans on his reality show, The Big Picture, and said, “Jaisa ki aap log jante hai meri shaadi ho gai hai aur ab 2-3 saal mein bacche bhi honge. Bhaisaab, aapki bhabhi itni cute baby thi na, main kehta hoon ek aisi baby de mujhe bus meri life set ho jaye. Mai shortlist bana raha hu names ke. (As you guys know I am married and will have kids in the next two or three years. Your sister-in-law (Deepika) was such a cute baby. I tell her to give me one baby like her and my life will be set. I am shortlisting names.)”
Well, we are sure that Ranveer will be an amazing father, IRL as well as on-screen! We’re eagerly awaiting for Jayeshbhai Jordaar to hit theatres on May 13.
