Catch flights, not feelings. But make sure your outfit is on point while doing so.
Airports have earned the undeniable reputation of being celebrity runways over the years. “Airport fashion” is now a popular trend. But have you ever seen a celeb in the most glamm outfit and thought to yourself, “How TF is she going to manage all these hours in that outfit?” Well, same. While staying fashionable is important, celebrities sometimes overlook comfort, which is the most important factor in airport fashion.
Here are seven Bollywood airport looks that made me go WTF:
Trench Coats & Mumbai Ki Garmi? Not A Match!
While Deepika Padukone is a fashionista in many ways, her airport outfits don’t always seem logical. The actress is frequently seen wearing thick trench coats over sweatshirts, which would make sense if she were flying to Switzerland, but Mumbai’s garmi and these coats just don’t go together.
I Was Not Red-y For This!
Latex pants, a turtleneck sweatshirt, and pencil heels? All three are a big no-no when it comes to travelling, especially, when catching a flight from Mumbai! Deepika showed up at the airport in an all-red look that made me want to put red mirchi in my eyes. Not only was it visually unappealing, but the super tight pants and high heels made it an extremely uncomfortable look. Also, since when are baseball caps back? No, just no!
Faux Leather Or Faux Pas?
While faux leather is a reigning trend among celebs, it should be avoided at the airport. Leather has a tendency to retain heat, which causes you to sweat. It can also adhere to your skin, causing an unpleasant sensation that is unsuitable for long-distance travel. Remember how Ross from FRIENDS couldn’t get his leather pants up? Well, that is possible. Kriti Sanon‘s all-black leather airport ensemble is a no-go for me.
What In The Space Is Happening?
I’m not sure whether Urvashi Rautela was boarding a plane or a spaceship. This silver tracksuit is just not it for me or for anyone else. Not only is the colour hideous, but the pants just don’t fit right, leaving no space (pun intended) for comfort. Also, the silver sneakers must be thrown out the window.
Heel, No!
With the right pair of heels, a woman can conquer the world. But she definitely won’t be able to run from the luggage check-in to boarding if she’s late for her flight. Let’s not forget the airport’s slick floors. Nora Fatehi is frequently seen at the airport wearing tight dresses and heels, which makes no sense. A long flight is an excellent opportunity to lounge in your most comfortable attire, and this is anything but.
Mumbai Airport Or Switzerland?
Yet another airport look that is just not supported by Mumbai’s heat. Nora was spotted at the airport in a fluffy white trench coat, cinched with a black belt. She completed the look with black stockings, pumps, and sunnies. We can forgive her for the sunglasses in the evening, but the overly thick trench coat and stockings are just unforgivable. I mean, why does she want to torment herself? Imagine having to remove those stockings every time you got to pee. Hell, no!
Saree, You Should Be Sorry!
Uorfi Javed is currently killing it in the fashion world, but some of her airport looks have been questionable in terms of comfort. Yes, you can certainly wear a saree to the airport. However, a soft cotton or organza saree might be appropriate. Uorfi arrived at the airport wearing a floral saree that was poorly draped. And a bikini top on a plane? What’s the point? I hope she was going somewhere close by, ‘coz this outfit on a long flight is simply torture.
NGL, these airport looks have made me more dizzy than any flight I’ve ever taken.
