Netflix’s docuseries, The Romantics gave us a reason to fall in love with Bollywood all over again. The four-part series puts the spotlight on legacy of B-town’s biggest filmmaker Yash Raj Chopra and his passion for romantic films.
Featuring 35 leading Indian actors, spanning three generations, over the course of three and a half years, the show had everything to get rave reviews from the audience. The Romantics has now added a global feather to its cap!
YRF’s ‘The Romantics’ To Be Screened At Harvard University!
Yes, you read that right! The Harvard students are all set to receive a special Bollywood treat as the four-part series will be screened at the University.
Additionally, Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), India’s top filmmaking institute in Pune, will include The Romantics in their curriculum. The maker of the show and the Oscar and Emmy-nominated director Smriti Mundhra also opened up and confirmed it. “I’m so pleased to join two of the topmost institutes of the world – Harvard and FTII – for a screening and robust discussion of The Romantics with students and put Yash Chopra in his rightful place as one of the world’s great auteurs,” she said in a recent interview.
Smriti sure did a fabulous job while diving into the 50 years of Bollywood history. I’m sure this is just the beginning. Way to go, Bollywood!
