Well, let’s just say that this year, the Bigg Boss cheer is coming earlier than expected. Amid a series of huge announcements including a #Sidnaaz movie, Voot launched the Bigg Boss 15 trailer yesterday and damn, we are already hooked. Following the success of the last two seasons of the reality show, the makers have decided to start Bigg Boss earlier than usual. But that is not the only thing that is going to change this time around. Here’s everything that you need to know about Bigg Boss 15:
The New Format
“Is baar ka Bigg Boss, itna crazy, itna over-the-top, TV par ban ho jayega,” Salman can be heard saying in the promo. Instead of TV, Bigg Boss 15 would start streaming on Voot this year. This version of the show which is being called ‘Bigg Boss OTT’ will last for six weeks. After this period, Bigg Boss OTT would then lead on to Bigg Boss 15 on TV. A little birdie has revealed, “This digital show would be young, fun and full of entertainment. The makers are currently in the process of locking contestants and a host. The set would also be a different one than the Salman Khan-hosted show, and have a lesser number of contestants.”
Manisha Sharma, the chief content officer at Hindi Mass Entertainment, Viacom18, shared the contest strategy behind Bigg Boss OTT with a digital media platform recently. She said, “Bigg Boss, over the years, has grown to become a phenomenon that drives conversations across the country. With the launch of Bigg Boss OTT, our digital audiences are in for a treat. The new digital exclusive format will take the show’s fandom to its next level through active engagement with viewers being able to play a part in the show’s progress. The beauty of this show lies in the versatility of format and the massive popularity it commands–both aspects helping us in customizing the show as two different content offerings for the two different platforms while maintaining its core ethos.”
