Balding In Your 20s? I Found 3 Ways To Reduce Hair Loss

These will be the best years of your life,” said my mother on my 20th birthday. Sorry to say, she was wrong. Being in your 20s is pretty difficult on an average day – you have to pay rent for a small room while watching all your friends put up stories from their semester in London, food is always a struggle because you can’t keep ordering out and your weight keeps fluctuating so none of your cool clothes fit. Plus, you have no money for a whole new wardrobe.

All of these problems are tedious, have no immediate solutions, and thinking about them just makes me lose my hair. Yet, another problem I have to deal with in my 20s – thinning hair. It’s everywhere – in the drains, on my comb, in the sink – everywhere except my head, that is. But I’ve been trying out a few fun new products that have really been helping, so I thought I’d help a girl out and share them with you.

Scalp Care, FTW

Dealing with a flaky scalp can be irritating, but with the right products on hand – it’s way easier than you think. One product I’ve been loving is hair tonics, can I just say – why did I not know about these sooner?

The leave-in Scalp Tonic by The Earth Collective visibly reduced the flakiness and oiliness of my scalp. So much so that I can now wait at least 2 to 3 days before washing my super high-maintenance curls without worrying about a greasy scalp. The formula contains ashwagandha, jojoba, and a series of multi-vitamins that provide extreme nourishment to the hair and scalp.

I’ve always used coconut oil, so when I moved to a humid city and it stopped working – I had to struggle to find a good, lightweight oil that wouldn’t cause additional buildup on my scalp. Arata Grow+ Turmeric Hair Oil has been my current go-to for extra nourishment. The texture is super nice, not too greasy and the formula is easily absorbed within a matter of minutes.

Hair Tonics > Coconut Oil

This Hair Density Tonic by The Earth Collective claims to increase hair growth within 84 days, and contains a plethora of actives and plant-derived/natural ingredients. The formula is super lightweight and acts as an all-in-one solution for almost every possible cause of hair loss.

Balance Your Hair Care Routine With Supplements

I’ve been loving this gorgeous plant-based, purple powder by Cosmix called Healthy Hair. While it has helped with a lot of new baby hair, it’s also a pleasure to drink and has become one of my go-to drinks for the summer.

My current routine involves drinking the supplement once a day, oiling my hair thrice a week, and going in with both tonics once every day. My hair has become significantly lighter, and bouncier and I can give myself more time between washes.

I hope these recommendations work out for you, but remember – if you’re experiencing an unreasonable amount of hair fall, please do consult a doctor since it’s always better to be safe than sorry!
