Arjun Kapoor and Malaika Arora have been keeping mum about their private lives. The two haven’t ever accepted their relationship, but they have been seen leaving parties hand-in-hand, attending family dinners, and in fact, even took a trip to the Maldives together! Two years after the rumours surfaced, they were spotted ‘officially’ at the screening of Arjun Kapoor’s movie, India’s Most Wanted, holding hands and posing for the paparazzi.

So what made this the right moment? In a recent interview with a leading magazine, Arjun Kapoor shared that he is indeed ready to take this relationship out in the open and also shared the reason why the screening was the right time to do so.

“We’ve come out because we feel the media has given us dignity. There’s a certain understanding the media has… they’ve been respectful, kind, honest and decent about it. That is why I felt comfortable. You recoil when there’s a certain gandhagi that comes with the territory. When purposely people irk you by saying, writing or asking things… there hasn’t been any of that. Where the paps are concerned, we give them photos when walking in and out of a place. It is normal. We talk to them,” Arjun confessed.

He also added that they thought there it was easier because it grew naturally, “There’s a certain ease. I told them don’t sit under the house just because it looks like we’re hiding, when we’re not. Let it be natural. Let it be normal. I don’t want my neighbours being disturbed, I don’t want her neighbours being disturbed. We’re not doing anything wrong. I don’t want that story being conveyed that we’re still hiding when we’re not. They understood that.”

From Arjun Kapoor admitting on Koffee With Karan that he wasn’t single to the two holidaying in Italy and the Maldives in secret, their relationship has come a long way. Rumours have been abuzz that the two are planning to tie the knot in 2019; however, in a recent interview the actor said that he doesn’t see marriage on the cards right now, “Marriage is definitely not going to happen now. I’m happy on both, the personal and professional fronts. I have always been open. Be assured that I will not shock you all; if there is something to be spoken about, I will inform you all and make you a part of it.”
Looks like we’ll be for sometime for the next big Bollywood wedding!
