This Haircare Routine Will Help You Deal With A Flaky Scalp For Good

There is nothing more frustrating than enduring a flaky, itchy scalp condition. Not only is it irritating but it is also a total nuisance because god forbid any dandruff falls on your skin, you will then undergo skin trouble like breakouts as well. Excessively scratching your head isn’t publicly condoned either, as it can gross out others too and not just yourself. That’s why the moment you find your mane feeling itchy with specs of dandruff, you need not take it lightly. Dandruff is so common and true pain, and with the summer season coming close, it’s best you set a default rescue plan in place. Dealing with this scalp condition doesn’t have to be so hard. And, with this hair care routine, you can rest assured that this itchy scalp concern will be no more in a matter of no time.

What Is The Reason Behind Dandruff & An Itchy Scalp?

Dandruff can be caused by various reasons. It could be due to oily scalp condition, dry scalp condition, product buildup, sweat, and irregular hair wash schedules. Dandruff is a fungus that lives on the scalp and causes white flakes. Dandruff infested scalp will also contribute to hair fall and that’s why it is important to treat it as soon as you see signs of it.

A Haircare Routine To Keep Your Mane Dandruff-Free

Step 1: Activate Mission

When it comes to fighting dandruff, anti-dandruff shampoos are your best bet. But we aren’t talking about the ones that contain harmful chemicals and sulphates. Nature-infused sulphate-free shampoos work best in relieving this scalp condition and there’s also a hack to use it correctly. After massaging the shampoo into a wet scalp and hair, let it sit for about a minute or two before rinsing it out. You must do this so that the formula can have its time to treat the scalp properly and help wash off dandruff.

Step 2: Condition Code

Don’t skip conditioner because if your hair is dry it will become harder for dandruff to go away. Condition with a lightweight, invigorating conditioner that will keep your strands clean and fresh throughout the day. Look for natural ingredients like rosemary, tea tree, or mint in the formulas. Apply the conditioner after rinsing out the anti-dandruff shampoo and use it only on the lengths of your hair.

Step 3: Deep Treat

Once a week, it is ideal to use a hair and scalp mask to properly get a handle on this dandruff situation. A hair mask that invigorates the scalp and nourishes the strands will help keep your mane squeaky clean and healthy. Apply the treatment mask to a damp scalp and hair before a hair wash. Use it generously and let the formula work its magic for at least 30 minutes. Rinse it out with shampoo and conditioner.

Step 4: Scalp Care

You really need to focus on scalp care just like you do for your skin on the rest of your body. This means exfoliation and serum are required for some extra care to take care of the dandruff issue. Use a scalp scrub after shampoo and before conditioner to really scrub out those dandruff flakes for good. Since your scalp is going through a deep cleanse, hydrating it post-wash is essential too. While you use a smoothing serum on your length, reserve a soothing serum for your scalp. Scalp serums will not make your hair greasy but instead will soothe your itchy scalp and hydrate it so as to prevent dandruff from forming.

Step 5: Full Schedule

Finally, it all comes down to how regularly you wash your hair. It is important to wash your hair at least once or twice a week. But, if you do strenuous workouts 5 days a week and are sweating, then you should wash your hair each time because sweat can cause dandruff to thrive. Similarly, if you are using hair styling products like gels and mousse or creams on your hair and scalp, then you should also wash it off as product buildup is another dandruff-causing factor.

Follow these simple steps and dandruff will soon be a thing of the past.
