Here’s Why Coffee Might Be The Secret To Malaika, Ananya & Alaya’s Glowing Skin

The pandemic may have led some of us back to our roots with homemade nuskas and DIYs for our skin and hair, but we’re not straying away from natural remedies anytime soon. And neither are celebrities.

Ananya Panday, Malaika Arora and Alaya F are three household names today and they credit their glowing skin to one common ingredient. One that jolts us awake and gives us a kick of energy when we need it, and is part of every household’s pantry.

The Ingredient Celebs Use

Coffee is all it takes, apparently! All three Bollywood divas took to their Instagrams to share their favourite coffee scrub recipes that help them achieve that radiance. Clearly, it not only wakes up your mind but the skin as well. But how does coffee help?

Benefits Of Coffee For Skin

It acts as a natural exfoliant. Massaging coffee powder on the skin helps get rid of dead skin cells and boosts blood circulation, leaving the skin feeling smooth and supple.

Coffee has been known to reduce the appearance of pigmentation and dark circles over time. Coffee or coffee-infused products applied to the under-eye area and other targeted pigmented areas helps brighten the skin with regular use.

Caffeine also helps in shrinking the blood vessels, therefore aiding de-puffing, perfect for the under-eye area and other spots where skin is inflamed.

The caffeine in coffee helps soothe sunburns.

How Malaika, Alaya & Ananya Use Coffee

Ananya Panday

Keeping it simple, the Gehraiyaan actress mixes ground coffee with coconut oil and applies it to her face. She massages it in circular motions to get the blood flowing and remove dead skin cells.

Malaika Arora

Malla also uses the same ingredients as Panday with just one addition. She also adds brown sugar to slough off the dead skin cells from her body.

Alaya F

Alaya whips up a face pack that she uses often to get that glow on. She mixes together ground coffee, sugar, olive oil, honey and some milk. She rubs this into her skin in circular motions and then washes it off after a few minutes.

Pro tip: Go wild with this DIY! There’s no need of sticking to actual measurements since all the ingredients are excellent for the skin and will only boost the glow.

Additionally, the mixture can get a little messy so ensure you apply it on in the bathroom just before heading for a shower!
