Recently, the actress made it to the Berlin International Film Festival for the world premiere of Gangubai Kathiawadi and had everyone transfixed with her head-turning look. Keeping up with the all-white theme, Alia opted for a gauzy saree for the film’s red carpet and we are sure to remember this look for years to come. Here’s everything that we are loving about it:

Admittedly, we weren’t particularly impressed with Alia Bhatt’s initial Berlinale looks. Her all-white midi and pantsuit simply did not make a mark, especially when compared to her stellar arsenal of bomb sarees. Thankfully, she veered back to the six yards for the film’s premiere and the result was magical.
Alia chose a Rimple & Harpreet Narula saree in ivory for the event and paired it with a risqué bikini-cut blouse. Custom-made for the premiere, her chiffon silk saree featured artworks that were referenced from archival Edwardian and French Lace Shawls. The delicate base was meticulously embellished with jaali-work, shadow embroidery, and aari work. The scalloped palla of the saree was finished off with a hand-knotted macramé fringe that stood out for us as the statement detail.
That said, what we need to focus on is Alia’s custom danglers by Anjali Bhimrajka Fine Jewels. Featuring a pair of striking emeralds and sapphires, they pin the entire outfit together by infusing just the right amount of colour to elevate the look without undermining its ethereal appeal. Do not miss out on the strategic use of white roses in her bun. This is an iconic look and Alia has given it a life of its own.
