Not just Bollywood looks like even Tollywood wants to cast Alia Bhatt now. After the success of Raazi, Gully Boy and upcoming releases including Kalank in April and Brahamstra in September, Alia will be soon making her Tollywood debut with a Telugu film to be directed by SS Rajamouli. Rajamouli’s most popular work includes Baahubali. So, clearly, we can expect this film to bring great thing Alia’s way.
The film called RRR is an upcoming Telugu historical fiction film set in the 1920s. Other than Alia as the female lead, the film stars popular Telugu actors Ram Charan and N. T. Rama Rao Jr. as well as Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn.

Earlier, according to reports, Alia had declined the film but today, at RRR’s press meet, the news was confirmed to the media. Here’s what Alia tweeted on becoming a part of RRR team:

In an interview, Alia said, “Working with Rajamouli sir is a big tick off my bucket list. Also to be alongside Ram Charan and Jr NTR is an absolute honour. I am very excited about this experience and also working in the south for the first time.” Furthermore, she said, “I begin the shoot in less than a month. I will be playing [the] role of Sita and the film is set in 1920s backdrop”.

Ajay has been a part of Telugu cinema. He gave the voice-overs for the Hindi version of Rajamouli’s 2012 blockbuster film Eega titled Makkhi in Hindi. He is said to be playing a pivotal role in RRR.
The film is all set to release on 30th July 2020 and will be made in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and other Indian languages. Here’s the first look of the film as shared by the filmmakers:
