Sometimes, Bollywood celebs make terrible decisions and do things that we can never understand. Directors decide to make movies that have storylines good enough to give us a permanent headache. Actors, on the other hand, decide to give god-awful performances and make us wonder if they’re trying to torture us. Oh and don’t get us wrong, we’re not even talking about the stars who are certified non-actors (*cough-Himesh Reshammiya-cough*). We’re talking about those who are considered some of the finest talents of the industry.
Yes fam, even the greatest actors of Bollywood have disappointed us big time with their terrible performances. It has made us wonder if we’re looking at the same stars that are known for their acting or their doppelgangers with questionable skills.
Here are nine B-town actors who made us wonder if they were acting or tormenting us:
We have just three words for her performance in Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon—overacting, overacting and overacting. NGL, her co-star, Hrithik Roshan, was equally bad in the movie. In fact, the entire film was a train wreck and their acting made things even worse. Bebo’s dramatic stares put bullets in our souls and her over-enthusiasm was painful to watch.
Ranveer Singh’s debut movie, Band Baaja Baaraat, had us convinced that he’s a phenomenal actor. But, then came Ladies vs Ricky Bahl that made us question our judgement. His acting was bland and his expression was just like Mr India—invisible. Well, he did make up for it later in his career and thank god for that.
Shah Rukh Khan’s performance in Ra.One is proof that even the greatest actors can give us bad performances every now and then. His accent as a South Indian scientist in the movie was totes fake and his acting as a robot was embarrassing.
What the hell was Ranbir Kapoor thinking when he signed Besharam? Well, that’s a mystery which we will never be able to solve. His cringy acting made his absurd character even more hideous. Honestly, this movie will always stay as a black spot on the actor’s otherwise brilliant career.
A few months after the movie was released, Saif Ali Khan admitted that he did a mistake by starring in Humshakals. During an interview with a leading daily, he confessed that the movie had no script and said, “The film didn’t have a script as such, it was all there in Sajid’s mind. I did whatever he asked me to. The film was very regressive. In fact, while watching it, I asked myself what I was doing in it. I knew I had let my fans down and underestimated their intelligence.” Well, we really hope that Saif doesn’t disappoint us again.
Katrina Kaif’s character in Raajneeti was one of the strongest roles of her career. Sadly, it’s also one of her worst performances ever. Her expressions were non-existent and her dialogues made us cringe.
OMG we’re so confused! Salman Khan gave his worst performance in Race 3 or Tubelight? Well, both the movies had absolutely no storyline and we regret the fact that we spent our hard-earned money to watch them. While the decision is really tough, we will choose Tubelight because frankly, we did not expect much from Race 3 anyway.
We just had one thought while watching Shaandaar—what the hell is going on? We have absolutely no doubt that Alia Bhatt is a great actress, but her performance in this absurd movie is disappointing AF. All she did in the film was look cute and clueless and honestly, we expected more from her.
Yes, there was a time when Deepika Padukone gave performances that we regretted watching. We wished DP had asked herself the same question we were asking while watching Race 3—what’s she even doing? Her character was all over the place and she was trying too hard to make it look convincing.
Well, we really hope that these fine actors don’t make such terrible mistakes again.
