#MeToo : AIB & Rajat Kapoor Are No Longer A Part of MAMI And Hotstar

After Tanushree Dutta spoke up about being sexually harassed by Nana Patekar, the #MeToo movement took a new turn in India. Women from different walks of life have started sharing their stories of sexual assault at the hands of men with influence. From actors to singers to journalists, no one is safe from the wrath of truth that is taking Twitter by storm. In light of the situation, JIO MAMI (Mumbai Academy of the Moving Image) film festival has decided to drop Rajat Kapoor and AIB’s films from their list. AIB’s Chintu Ka Birthday and Rajat Kapoor’s film Kadakh are no longer going to be a part of the festival, MAMI stated in a recent post they shared on Twitter.

Hotstar has also decided to cancel the third season of On Air With AIB and will no longer be associated with them.

These accusations have not been taking lightly by the men in question. Rajat Kapoor made a public apology after he was accused of harassment.

After Gursimran Khamba was accused of assault and Tanmay Bhat was called out for not taking the complaint against Utsav Chakraborty seriously, AIB issued a public statement.
