After Tanushree Dutta spoke up about being sexually harassed by Nana Patekar, the #MeToo movement took a new turn in India. Women from different walks of life have started sharing their stories of sexual assault at the hands of men with influence. From actors to singers to journalists, no one is safe from the wrath of truth that is taking Twitter by storm. In light of the situation, JIO MAMI (Mumbai Academy of the Moving Image) film festival has decided to drop Rajat Kapoor and AIB’s films from their list. AIB’s Chintu Ka Birthday and Rajat Kapoor’s film Kadakh are no longer going to be a part of the festival, MAMI stated in a recent post they shared on Twitter.

These accusations have not been taking lightly by the men in question. Rajat Kapoor made a public apology after he was accused of harassment.
I am sorry from the bottom of my heart- and sad that I was the cause of this hurt
to another human being. If there is one thing more important to me than even my work,
it is to be a good human being.
And I have tried to be that person.
And now, I will try harder.— Rajat Kapoor (@mrrajatkapoor) October 7, 2018
After Gursimran Khamba was accused of assault and Tanmay Bhat was called out for not taking the complaint against Utsav Chakraborty seriously, AIB issued a public statement.
It stated that Tanmay Bhatt will be stepping away from the organisation and Gursimran Khamba will be given a leave of absence.
Many other names from the industry including Alok Nath, Vikas Bahl, Kailash Kher have been called out by women on social media. The courage of a few women is helping others come in front and share their stories.
