Looks like when the cast of Hum Saath Saath Hain was shooting the film (and allegedly the blackbuck), they all really were saath saath. After Salman Khan, his co-actors from the film – Saif Ali Khan, Sonali Bendre, Tabu and Neelam Kothari Soni received a legal notice from the Jodhpur High Court after the state government of Rajasthan challenged their acquittal in the blackbuck poaching case.

Last year in April, when Salman was convicted under Section 51 of The Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972, Saif, Sonali, Tabu and Neelam were acquitted. Salman was sentenced to a five-year prison term along with a fine of Rs 10,000 for killing two blackbucks in 1998. However, after spending only two nights in jail, he was granted bail on a bond of Rs 50,000 and two sureties of the same amount. Bhai!

Dushyant Singh, who was allegedly accompanying the actors to the hunt, was also issued a notice.
Salman’s appeal against the sentence will be heard on April 3 and the government’s appeal against acquitting Salman for the possession of illegal arms will also be heard on the same day. As for the others, no court hearing has been announced as yet.
It has been over 20 years since the poaching incident happened and the case is still fresh in our minds and in the Jodhpur high court. Killing a blackbuck, which is a rare and ‘near threatened’ species, is prohibited by law as provided under Section 51 of the Indian Constitution.
