TV actor Karan Oberoi, who is best known for his stint in Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin, has been arrested for allegedly raping and blackmailing a woman in Mumbai. Reportedly, Karan is accused of raping a woman in Oshiwara, Mumbai in 2017.

According to the FIR registered at Oshiwara Police Station, “Karan Oberoi not only raped the woman and filmed the act but also demanded money from her threatening to release the video if she did not pay up.”
Based on the complaint by the women, the actor has been charged under sections 376 (rape) and 384 (extortion) of the Indian Penal Code.

The actor who was arrested has been sent to police custody till May 9 by the Mumbai Court.
Reportedly, he broke down into tears during the court proceedings on May 6.
According to the woman, Karan was in a relationship with her since 2016 and he raped her on the pretext of marrying her.
Reportedly, Karan too too filed a complaint against her for mental harassment ten days prior to her complaint.
The actor and anchor started his TV journey with Mahesh Bhatt’s Swabhimaan, where he played Bobby and went on to star in shows like Saaya, Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin, Inside Edge, among others. He was a part of the Indipop boy band, A Band of Boys, formed in 2001, along with Sudhanshu Pandey, Sherrin Varghese, Siddharth Haldipur and Chaitnya Bhosale and has appeared in several advertising campaigns.
