“Nika kal bhi khoobsurat bala thi aur hamesha khoobsurat bala rahegi,” said Aamna Sharif, aka the new Komolika, on yesterday’s episode of Kasautii Zindagii Kay. Yes, the evil-minded Komolika is back (with a bang or not, is yet to be seen)! And she is already planning and plotting to get ‘her’ Anurag back.
In case you missed yesterday’s episode, we’ve got all the deets on Aamna’s look as Komo. In the latest episode, we saw that Komolika was discharged from the hospital and her brother Ronit was completing the formalities. Komolika asked him for Anurag’s latest picture and, after looking at it, she swore to bring him back in her life.
Komolika is someone who expects men to notice her wherever she goes. And that’s exactly what happened when the new Komo walked out of the hospital in all her glory yesterday. Even the patients in wheelchairs and on stretchers took notice. Not just that, the doctor who did her plastic surgery was in awe too!
Here’s the look of the new Komo:
And that’s her looking at Anurag’s picture, planning to get him back.
The old Komolika, Hina Khan, had big shoes to fill, given that OG Komolika (Urvashi Dholakia) had owned it and became synonymous with the character in season one. But, in no time, Hina made the character her own. While Urvashi dressed up in sarees with a side of wicked, Hina wore bold lehengas and backless blouses. Aamna, as the new Komolika, is no different. We saw her wearing a blue boat-neck top and a lehenga in the same shade of blue with chunky jewellery (a silver neckpiece, drop earrings, dull gold bangles, a kamarbandh and a nose ring). And don’t miss that sliver potli. The kohl-rimmed eyes, lush lashes and bold lips are still there, minus the big bindi. Pretty much the same quirks, except this one looks a lot like a belly dancer!
Earlier, in an interview with a leading daily, Aamna opened up about going beyond her weepy bahu avatar and taking up the role of an iconic vamp. She said, “As an actor, you want to play all shades. It’s really exciting when you come across something that can surprise your audiences. I had briefly played a grey character in Ek Villain and when Komolika was offered I felt it was a good opportunity to flesh out that aspect of an actor too.”
“And, on a lighter note, my first thought was as Kashish I’ve cried enough, it’s high time I make others cry. I would really hope that I do an entertaining portrayal and that the audiences accept it in a similar emotion,” she added.
We hope so too, Aamna.
