Aamir Khan, the perfectionist of Bollywood, has given us numerous blockbuster hits in the past. However, his luck hasn’t been favouring him of late. Case in point: his most recent release Laal Singh Chadha. Blame it on the people boycotting the film or controversies ahead of its release, the box office collection and reviews turned out to be a nightmare for the actor! However, Aamir has a coping mechanism planned before he makes a stellar comeback. He is taking a break!
Aamir recently made an appearance at the trailer launch of Carry On Jatta 3 to support the film. When asked about his decision of taking a break from the acting biz, the Dhoom 3 actor shared, “Since you all must be curious, let me quickly give you an answer. I haven’t decided to do any film as of now. I want to spend time with my family right now. I’m feeling good about it because that’s what I want to do right now. I’ll do a film when I’m emotionally ready, for sure.” Well, this isn’t the first time Aamir has opened up about taking some time off from Bollywood!
Back in 2022, during a media interaction, Aamir Khan spoke about how he was supposed to shoot for another film after Laal Singh Chadha, but dropped the plan to focus on more important things. The Taare Zameen Par actor shared, “When I am doing a film as an actor, I get so lost that nothing else happens in my life. I was supposed to do a film after ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ called ‘Champions’. It’s a wonderful script, a beautiful story, and it’s a very heartwarming and lovely film. But I feel that I want to take a break and be with my family, my mom, and my kids. I feel I have been working for 35 years and I have single-mindedly been focused on my work. I feel that it’s not fair to people who are close to me… This is the time I feel I have to take some time off to be with them and actually experience life in a different way. I am looking forward to next year, a year-and-a-half in which I am not working as an actor.”
Here’s hoping to see Aamir back on the screens with a bang, at his own pace of course!
