Twenty years after they called off their engagement, the couple exchanged rings once again. On 8 April, pop sensation Jennifer Lopez shared the exciting news through a video on her website. Flaunting a gorg emerald ring, she teased a “personal” announcement on Instagram and wrote, “I have a really exciting and special story to share.”

Jab They Met
In 2002, Jen and Ben met on the sets of the movie Gigli. Although it did not enjoy a successful run at the box office, sparks started flying between the co-stars. At the time, Jen was married to her second husband, Cris Judd. However, she filed for a divorce soon after and was spotted with Ben on several occasions.
Engagement 1.0
In November 2002, after Jennifer’s ‘Jenny from the Block‘ video became a hit, she revealed the big news of her engagement with Ben. In an interview with American television anchor Diane Sawyer, she called his proposal traditional and spectacular. Ben swept away his lady love with a 6.1-carat pink diamond ring by Harry Winston, which reportedly was worth $2.5 million. The ring caught a lot of attention and so did the couple.
I Do..n’t
The duo was set to tie the knot in September 2003. Jen seemed excited and even revealed that she was planning to change her name to Jennifer Affleck. Unfortunately though, the couple never made it to the altar. Just days before the D-day, they postponed their wedding, citing “excessive media attention” as the reason. However, they remained together.
Trouble In Paradise
After cancelling the wedding, they continued to make appearances. But rumours were rife that something was wrong in the Bennifer paradise. Amidst strong breakup speculations, Jen’s representative finally confirmed their split in January 2004. In her statement, the official said, “I am confirming the report that Jennifer Lopez has ended her engagement to Ben Affleck. At this difficult time, we ask that you respect her privacy.”
And They Moved On
Post the split, Jen married Marc Anthony in 2004 and Ben married Jennifer Garner. Post her divorce from Anthony in 2014, she dated Alex Rodriguez. But the two called it quits in March 2021.
The Reunion
In April 2021, rumours of Bennifer getting back together started making the rounds. The couple was spotted vacationing together in May 2021. In June, on her 52nd birthday, Jen confirmed dating ben with their European vacay pics.
The Happy Ending
Back in 2006, Jen had stated in an interview that there was true love between Ben and her, but the timing was wrong. Little did we know that their love would finally come through and they’d get their happy ending eventually.
