We must address the truth at this point: the fact that rom-coms are a way of life. It’s simple, we choose fiction for when life isn’t perfect. Rom-coms are inherently sweet, and they come with happy endings. In a way, they’re for when you need hope, for when you need a reason to smile, or if you just wish to spend a Sunday evening at home because going out is cliché. Rom-coms are everything, they are for everything.
All I’m trying to say is, whoever devised the idea of rom-coms has all my respect. However, of course, finding a good film to commit to, is harder than we think it is. Memes aren’t wrong when they say that it takes longer to find good content than it is to finish a meal.
