With the monsoon season in the offing, one thing is guaranteed–chai, more chai, and thodi aur chai. In a country where households can run out of salt but not tea leaves, chai has many forms and food partners. From Parle-G and other biscuits to rusk and namkeens, from bun maska to chai-sutta, chai peene wale, chai peete hain shaan se…jeete hain shaan se, marte hain shaan se. And then there’s this person who dunked a boiled egg, a freaking boiled egg, in their tea.
In a collage posted by Facebook user Dhvanya Shah with the caption “Why, why & Why” on a private Facebook group, the image shows a hard-boiled egg first dipped into a cup of tea and then a bite taken from it. Needless to say, the image went public real quickly. Take a look! P.S. Beware of gag reactions.
The lockdown may have revealed your hidden chef but this? I’m sorry but, to quote one of the comments, “This.is.a.HATE CRIME!!!”. And there are many who were just as disgusted by the sight of this. One user wrote this “really puts the devil in deviled eggs”. Another said, “This is a disgrace to the chai, not the egg”. I’m sure you get the gist of it. Or would you rather try and tell?
