7 years of Brahmastra announcement

We have all been eagerly waiting to see lovebirds Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor come together on-screen for Brahmastra, right from the moment it was announced. You may not have realized it, but that was 7 years ago. Shocked? We are too! So are many other netizens who had been patiently waiting for the film to release. Having been announced in 2014, the shooting for Ayan Mukerji’s ambitious sci-fi trilogy commenced in 2018. Seven years later, the makers are yet to announce the final release date.

Yesterday, a few Twitter users started trending ‘7 years of Brahmastra’ while reacting to the announcement post from seven years ago. And unsurprisingly, some of their reactions were hilarious! Many people recalled how their life changed drastically in those 7 years, while the film still hasn’t been released.

A Twitter user wrote, “When this film was announced to release I just started first year of university. Since then I’ve graduated. Successfully launched a startup which is now in its second year whilst this film still hasn’t been released.”

It’s Been A Long Wait…

However, some Twitter users were also of the opinion that the wait would be worth it.

Apart from Ranbir and Alia, Brahmastra also features Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna and Mouni Roy. Earlier, Ayan Mukerji had said in a statement, “When we broke the logo for Brahmastra at the Kumbh, we were excited that the end of the road is near, Christmas 2019…the date we announced for the release of the movie. But in the past weeks, I have learned that teams working on the movie, lead by my VFX teams need more time in order to get the VFX right, to get the sound and music right, to get the film right.”

With such attention being paid to the details, it seems like the film will definitely be worth the wait!
