How would you react if we told you that the scene in Pretty Woman, where Richard Gere gifted Julia Roberts a necklace in a box and snapped it shut suddenly was not scripted? The way she jumped and laughed was a 100% genuine reaction. Surprising, right? Also, remember the lineup scene in The Usual Suspects where the actors kept laughing at the police station? It was completely unscripted. They couldn’t control themselves because someone kept farting during the entire shot. That’s TMI, but defs a hilarious one.

Well, a lot of times, certain scenes in a movie that were not even scripted in the first place, become memorable. Here are some amazing scenes from Bollywood movies that were improvised by the actors and crew members on the spot.

P.S. The seventh one will blow your mind!

7 Bollywood Scenes That Were Improvised On The Spot

TBH, we wouldn’t have guessed in hundred years that these scenes were not scripted. Thanks to the actors and filmmakers for letting us know that whatever we saw in these scenes, were honest reactions of the actors.

Agar Tum Sath Ho (Tamasha)

This entire song has a special fan base and the reason is obvious. Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor’s acting looked so real and hit us right in the heart. We felt their pain when the actor ran away and DP tried to find and console him. It’s just so heartwrenching. Well, that’s because it was not scripted at all. Both of them felt the moment and did what they did naturally.

Aao Aao (Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge)

Every 90s kid remembers this scene. Amrish Puri was feeding the pigeons with bird food when Shah Rukh Khan arrived and interrupted him. To impress him, SRK wore kurta pyajama and imitated him by saying, “aao aao” to the birds. In an interview a few years ago, the actor said, “There were several improv moments. They enhanced the script, for sure. There was this scene with Amrish Puri where he was feeding the pigeons. And we had this really funny scene where we are both awkwardly going ‘aao, aao’ to the pigeons. It is a call for pigeons I had heard in Delhi, so I added it.”

The Knife Scene (Piku)

According to director Shoojit Sircar, the scene where Amitabh Bachchan, Irrfan Khan and Deepika Padukone had to fight over a knife was not working at all. In the end, he asked them to improvise the scene and do whatever they felt was right. The banter between Big B and Irrfan was not scripted. The part where DP threw the knife into the water?Completely improvised.

The Fall (Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge)

This beautiful song has the most unexpected ending. SRK danced with Kajol and by the end of the track, he dropped her. The actress revealed during a recent interview that she had no idea about it. Apparently, director Aditya Chopra wanted a genuine reaction from Kajol and well, that’s what we got. Needless to say, the actress was furious after the scene and they had to apologise to her sincerely for weeks.

The Date Swap (Kal Ho Naa Ho)

Can we just go ahead and call SRK the king of improvisation because he did it again in Kal Ho Naa Ho! Rajpal Yadav came to meet his date and accidentally reached Preity Zinta’s home. He was supposed to have dinner with her family but his accent as a gangster was so funny that Jaya Bachchan couldn’t keep a straight face. To distract her, SRK started having impromptu conversations with the actor and that controlled the actresses from laughing out loud.

The Mirror Monologue (Amar Akbar Anthony)

Turns out, the knife scene in Piku was not the first time when Amitabh Bachchan did something impromptu. He recently shared a video from his movie, Amar Akbar Anthony on his Instagram handle and revealed that his famous mirror scene was unscripted. He acted drunk and gave a monologue in front of the mirror and nailed it in the first shot itself!

The Permission Scene (Gangs Of Wasseypur)

This iconic scene from Gangs Of Wasseypur where Nawazuddin Siddiqui held Huma Quereshi’s hand was scripted. But, her reaction? That was unscripted. The actress came up with the part where she asked him to take her permission before touching her hand completely on her own. Now, that’s an amazing improvisation!

So fam, which improvised scene surprised you the most?
