Killed It! 7 Off-Beat Brides Who Won 2020 With Their Devil-May-Care Aesthetics

Killed It! 7 Off-Beat Brides Who Won 2020 With Their Devil-May-Care Aesthetics

She came, she saw, she conquered. She came sashaying in her gorgeous outfits, she saw to it that no one beats her chic aesthetics, and she definitely conquered the wedding 2020 with her offbeat wardrobe. This year has been really something. Well, you know what we mean. But so has been the 2020 bride, who walked the aisle in her full glory, undeterred by the pandemic and its challenges.

That we have been in awe of the 2020 bride and her unyielding spirit is something that we have reiterated time and again. And to celebrate just that, here’s a line up of all the pandemic brides who had us smitten with their unique style and devil may care attitude.

The Pantsuit Bride

Giving us some major Emily Ratajkowski flashback, Sanjana Rishi gave us the peak 2020 bridal aesthetics in her pre-owned pantsuit bridal avatar complete with a bespoke veil and traditional jewels. Done in luxurious satin, the Gianfranco Ferré pantsuit was something to talk about and broke the internet in no time. And so were the lace bustier and the scalloped, ivory dupatta sported by the bride.

The Bridechilla And Her Disco Mehendi Vibe

Jeevika Tyagi tied the knot with Aryan Chauhan earlier this year in a fun Goa ceremony and we doubt if we’d ever get over their disco mehendi outfits. For the mehendi function, both the bride and her fiance donned complimenting jumpsuit and dungaree complete with a hearty smattering of sequins. Jeevika’s magenta pink jumpsuit had us both surprised and impressed with its fuzz-free vibe that looked every bit festive while giving her the scope to have loads of fun and mobility. A look at the pictures from the function and you’d know that the two really had a gala time while looking every bit festive sans all the OTT taam jhaam

The Heirloom Bride

Megha Khanna married the love of her life during peak pandemic time and seriously broke the internet with her gold, heirloom saree. A designer herself, Megha actually had to put her bespoke red matka silk lehenga on hold mid-production owing to the pandemic and thus decided to go the heirloom way to make up for the disappointment. She looked every bit resplendent in her mother’s heirloom zardozi work tissue saree and completed the look with a pearl and navratna choker which again was an heirloom piece from the family.

The White Bride With A Twist

With the French lace-like accents of her white lehenga and the veil-like appeal of her statement dupatta, designer Harkiran Basra stunned us by wearing the coolest white bridal lehenga of all times. And while the outfit was an inspiration in itself, her seashell kaleeras surely managed to make their separate place in the bridal roll of honour.

The Corset Bride

A look at Priyanka Krishna Patel’s off white lehenga with a corset choli and you would never be able to guess that it is a Sabyasachi creation until you are explicitly told so (and after you double-check just to be sure). Featuring a gorgeous choli and an organza dupatta, Priyanka’s reception outfit easily became the most interesting pick from her entire wardrobe and really had us dreaming of its barbie doll flounce.

The Velvet Bride

Dressed in a berry pink velvet lehenga, bride Saabi Nagra really had us impressed with a look that can be best described as a gorgeous confluence of opulence and practicality. With a long kurti featuring a slit in the centre and 3/4th sleeves, Saabi gave us some serious winter wedding goals while keeping it as beautiful as it gets. We also loved how she kept it super minimal with the dupatta and went for an extremely lightweight jaal work separate.

The Celeb Bride

Not only did Kajal Aggarwal win the wedding season 2020 for us with her array of glorious outfits but she also gave all the former celeb brides a serious run for their money with her admirable style. And while her Anamika Khanna outfit is as gorgeous as it gets, it has to be her ivory Falguni and Shane Peacock outfit that has been really fuelling our wedding wardrobe fantasies right now. From the fish cut silhouette to the ethereal veil, and colour on colour handwork, every single of this outfit is what bridal legends are made of!

Also, can we all please take a moment and admire her bridal glow? Here’s how you can get it too:

So fam, which of these brides do you think won in the cool bride department?
