Alia deviated from the conventional Indian bride aesthetic by fashioning her look with an ivory-hued, star-studded Sabyasachi sari, and chose to ditch the trademark gajra-laden bun to revel in a simple ‘open-hair-complemented-by-light-waves’ moment. And the hairdo seamlessly played into the minimalism of the look—as her tresses cascaded down her neck, and grazed her shoulders softly. This one doesn’t require much meddling. All you have to do is add a few waves to your hair with a curling iron to lend a little bit of volume and oomph to the overall look, and bedeck your tresses with a hand-woven tissue-veil (brides-to-be, please note) to conclude the style.
The Mehendi Hairdo
The Mehendi was nothing short of magical—a day of love, light, and peace made special by the star couple twinning with each other in red. Alia chose to let her hair down, but with a twist – literally! Two face-framing strands of hair were twisted into thick three-way braids, and pinned to the back delicately. The look was dramatised with a chunky, forehead-grazing maang-tikka that balanced the simplicity of the ‘do. You can add a few waves to the ends of your hair to play into the look.
