Over 15 seasons of Bigg Boss, we have all seen a fair share of contestants who signed up for the show with great promise but could not deliver after entering the house. These were the celebrities that we had high hopes from and we were almost certain that they will win the show. However, just a couple of weeks into their seasons and it was not hard to tell that we had grossly overestimated their potential. Some of them disappointed the viewers so bad that most of us have almost forgotten that they ever appeared on Bigg Boss. Today, we’d be talking about 10 such contestants. Jay Bhanushali
For the very first time in Bigg Boss’s history, Salman Khan personally dropped Jay Bhanushali inside the reality show home during the season 15 premiere. This should speak volumes about his stature and the high hopes that both the makers and viewers invested in the actor. Sadly, he turned out to be a major disappointment and failed to impress with his persona and attitude problems. He looked very confused on the show and was evicted mid-season in an unceremonious eviction.
Raqesh Bapat
Most of the 90s kids had high hopes for this actor whom we once saw as the next big thing. However, Raqesh Bapat’s Bigg Boss OTT journey fizzled away just like his Bollywood career and we can’t remember much about it except his romance with Shamita Shetty. He disappointed us once again in season 15 when he came to the show for just a couple of days and then walked out citing health issues.
Himanshi Khurana
When we found out that Himanshi Khurana was entering the Bigg Boss 13 house, we got really worried for Shehnaaz Gill. This is ‘coz they were both sworn enemies back then and given that Himanshi was a way bigger Punjabi star, we thought she’d end up poaching Shehnaaz’s limelight and fanbase. However, none of our fears materialised and she was shown the doors within five weeks of her BB entry.
Koena Mitra
It is always a big deal when a Bollywood star agrees to do Bigg Boss and this is why we were particularly excited about Koena Mitra appearing in season 13. However, the actress was evicted in just two weeks and did not give much content during the short period that she spent in the house.
Karanvir Bohra
Most of us thought that someone talented enough to play a psycho lover in Dil Se Di Dua… Saubhagyavati Bhava? would make for a very interesting BB contestant as well. Most of us were wrong! It was revealed during Bigg Boss 12 that Karanvir was as drama-free as possible and while it is a coveted quality in real life, it did him no good in the reality show.
Priyank Sharma
Most of the MTV reality show stars perform well on Bigg Boss ‘coz they know how these shows work. Plus, they have already been in the public eye and that helps. Sadly, none of it worked for Priyank Sharma who entered the house in season 11. He was first thrown out within a week for excessive aggression and was later called again. That said, most believe that he should have never returned to the show for it brought him no good. The actor earned a bad reputation for openly flirting with Benafsha Soonawalla who was in a relationship with Varun Sood back then. But that’s not it. During the family week, Divya Agarwal (Bigg Boss OTT winner) entered the house for Priyank and had a public break-up with him while accusing him of cheating and breaking her heart.
Rohan Mehra
Generally, lead actors from hit TV shows get a lot of love in Bigg Boss. Shweta Tiwari and Urvashi Dholakia, and Dipika Kakkar are proof. Sadly, the logic did not apply to Rohan Mehra who played the role of Naksh in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. From day 1 of Bigg Boss 11, it was quite apparent that he had an attitude problem and the audience found it too unpalatable.
Karan Mehra
Karan Mehra was yet another big Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai name who failed to impress the audience with his Bigg Boss stint. He looked quite confident of winning the show during the premiere but could not live up to the viewers’ expectations. Karan was too quiet and too subtle for the show and was soon ousted for failing to entertain the audience.
Rimi Sen
Imagine a Dhoom actor entering the Bigg Boss house and getting eliminated mid-season instead of taking the trophy home. That’s exactly what happened to Rimi Sen who spent all her days in the reality show house whining and complaining instead of participating like the rest of the housemates.
Rupali Ganguli
We had mighty big expectations from Rupali Ganguly aka Monisha Sarabhai when she entered the Bigg Boss 1 house. Well, most of us were watching the first instalment of the reality show only because it had a part of Sarabhai vs Sarabhai in it. But girl, were we in for a huge disappointment?!
